There is a JW here who is a "friend" of my husbands. He bought the empty lot across the street from us for like $40,000 back in 04. We decided we were needing to build a bigger home so in talking to this "friend" the guy said he would sell this half acre lot to us for $80,000. Thats a good deal here in the middle of Palm Beach County. So we agreed. We proceeded to design the house, have an architect draw up the plans at great expense, had the lot surveyed and mowed it and kept it up...showing everybody where the house would be and how it would be layed out. The kids were so excited!
One day this brother shows up at the door. He comes in and says, you know, in this market Im pretty sure I could get more for that lot, can we agree on $120,000? And we talked awhile and said we thought it was worth that and so agreed on that.
A few months later...brother shows up again, sits on my couch and says "I had an offer of $190,000 on the lot...and even though we agreed on $120,000, I am not LEGALLY obligated to sell it to you because we didnt have a written contract. I may be morally and ethically obligated but this is business!" And I almost killed the man! My husband made me leave the room. Then, as if it made a damn bit of difference, he says "Oh dont worry...If you dont buy it I wont sell it at all BECAUSE I DONT WANT TO RUIN OUR FRIENDSHIP" What the FUCK???? He just cost us $5000 in fees and plans, and upped the price from $80,000 to $120,000 to $190,000 and SCREWED US and our CHILDREN and he thinks he HASNT destroyed this friendship????? OMG
After he left my husband was so mad he went to the back of our house and kicked the metal screen enclosure on our patio until he was exhausted...for letting this asshole make a fool of him and that he TRUSTED this man on his word becuase he was a BROTHER! And to top it off...my husband told the guy he could move all his storage sheds from that property to ours because he couldnt legally store anything on that lot if he didnt live on it....and do you know that to this DAY that shithead has his shed on our property and is storing his shit FREE on MY YARD? My husband said he did that in case someday he wanted to buy the lot and to keep his options open! FOUR YEARS without blinking this asshole has stored his shit on my lot.
I have told my husband that the shed and its contents have to be gone by December 31 or Im breaking the lock and putting his shit to the curb. And the kicker is, this asshole comes and goes putting stuff in it and taking shit out of it...whenever he sees im NOT home!
they have absolutely NO shame.
