ok i started another thread and every one jumped on me because i was trying to take the theory of evolution out of the mix and most here seem to believe in it so i will just say it.

the theory of major evolution is crap!

Quite a lot, actually. It should be noted that QC and crazyguy have no idea what they are talking about, but physics has a lot to do with EVERYTHING.

BUT when we do, all we have proven that it took immense skill, knowhow, energy resources to doit.it did not just happen POOF.

By way of corollary, when we build an airplane, are we proving that birds are engineers? When we swim in the ocean, are we proving fish are people?

Similarly, we are attempting to purposefully re-create something shrouded in mystery. We have proven is that science works.

You miss your own point. Investigating how something happened and works is science. You are mistaking "we don't know yet" for the thought-stopping braindead "god did it".

A DESIGN world view is easily provable, like forensics. Follow the clues.

Evolution has been proven quite nicely. Naturalistic causes have been shown by the evidence.

What evidence do you have for design? You make many claims (such as the claim that scientists know what happened prior to the Big Bang) but provide no evidence.

Infinity and god - why wait to create the universe?

here's the problem with infinity ... we can't comprehend it.. it's bad enough when it's space, but when it's time as well and then we throw in some all powerful creature supposedly existing forever ... well, it just doesn't make sense and raises questions.. such as why wait?

why didn't god create the universe the day before he did?

or the day before that?

What possibility is that? Why is is a possibility? Why does what you call a possibility contradict all known observation and experimentation? How is your possibility falsifiable? Testable? Observable?

in the movie annie hall, written by woody allen, as a young boy, alvy's mother, takes him to see a doctor as he appears to be dealing with some kind of depression.

when the doctor asks alvy what's up, alvy explains that he just found out the universe is expanding, everything will spread out and go cold and die, therefore nothing he does matters, so he is not going to do anything anymore.

most people might see this as a joke, but i think woody is trying to make a serious point.. the point here is about meaning.

We live in the same universe. Therefore, the fact that you want to believe in God is consistent with a universe that exists where people want to believe in God. That is all that it means. Nothing. It doesn't mean anything or say anything about the validity of your belief which, thus far, has zero evidence supporting it.

We as humans intrinsically stive for meaning, so for us to be the product of a meaningless universe is inconsistent.

Humans have thought there were fire breathing dragons and witches, so for us to live in a universe without them is inconsistent.

Would you agree with that? If not, then it's obvious that just because humans look for something doesn't mean it must exist. If you do agree with it, then evidence proves you wrong as we live in a universe where I an not waking up in a pile of money with Emmy Rossum and Jessica Alba next to me.

It is ENTIRELY POSSIBLE that I have to refer people to google categories, rather than recite facts from failing memory.

You have made a lot of claims, no one expect you to recite from memory. If there is something supporting what you say, you can simply google it yourself and present it.

science changes and contradicts itself through time

Science is a process for explaining the world around us. As we learn more, the state of our knowledge reaches a higher state of quality. It doesn't contradict itself, it changes as we get new information.

That's not reasonable at all. It's not at all how evolution works, either.

Please answer the questions put to you. Simply telling people to "google whatever" doesn't support your contradiction of known and observable data.

I recommended EP to do his due diligence and not dismiss pre bigbang time as out of hand.

No one has dismissed it. You simply assert it with no evidence and currently no possiblity of evidence. Further, your assertions contradict knows and observable data and theories with valid predictive power. Claiming something is being dismissed with it is simply pointed out that you have no evidence show a lack of understanding of science.

Saying "google whatever" is not an answer. Can you support your hypothesis with data? The names of scientists you claimed were on the verge of breakthroughts in this area? Can you explain their hypotheses? What experiments have they done? Can you explain the contradiction between your hypothesis and observation?
