The effect we are having on the Watchtower is HUGE
by jwfacts ini was inspired by a recent thread i know i aint gunna crumble the wt, but a girl can dream to look at the effect we as individuals are having on the watchtower society.. 3dogs1husband quoted a story to show that even helping only one person is worth it.. it is encouraging to note that the one person you may have helped has lead to millions being helped, due to the power of compounding growth.. compounding growth is well illustrated by the rice on a chessboard problem.
if you start with 1 grain of rice on square one, and double it to 2 on the second, 4 on the third, 8 on the fourth, by the last (64th) square there would be 18,446,744,073,709,551,615 grains of rice.. likewise, if you help one person out of the grip of the watchtower this year, then next year you help one more and they help one, in a few years that is going to have a formidable result on the number of jehovahs witnesses.

While it is encouraging, be sure to not mistake correlation for causation. Even at that, as a percentage of the population, they have been growing faster than the population of the world and in in 2010 roughly matched at 0.001 as a percent of the population. For instance, in 1987, they were 0.0006% and in 1999 they were .00094% of the population.
But, growth is still slowing. It may just be that it is normalizing with population along with the internet or any number of things.

by fade_away inare any of you on here not living the dreams you had as a kid because of the "no higher education" rule?.
i was a born in jw and remained one until the age of 25. by my late teens i knew what i wanted to do with my life.
i'm about to write a lengthy history explaining why i'm not currently in the carreer i wanted, so you can skip this boring story and just comment if you want to.. i was raised to be a loyal jw and since birth already had many goals chosen for me.

How did you fill the void after leaving?
by gutted ini'm curious about how people filled the void after leaving the jws.
i'm at a point, a bit over a year after leaving, where i am finding i have confronted the reality of my life and situation... and it's depressing.
i realize i have holes in my life (a significant other, social activities, something higher/beyond myself) which many worldly people naturally have filled but it feels unnatural for me, almost synthetic and it makes me more depressed the more i think about it.

an interesting article about the historical jesus and whether he even existed at all, and if paul knew of him, or was referring to a mythical-type of christ.. personally, i'm starting to think jesus never existed....

Why do I no longer get attacked and persecuted by the demons, since I left JW,s ?
by pedal power inmost jw.s really believe that they ( as we once did ) are promoting gods will, but what if they really are ?
is it possible that god is supporting them even though they (governing body ) lie, because most jw,s are ignorant of the lies told on their behalf, ?.
when i was a jw i got attacked by the demons bigtime, but not now, and i can only assume that they (demons ) are happy that i am no longer a jw and are now leaving me alone, cant think of any other reason, has god ever supported a group who were similarly found wanting ?.

How is it possible to raise points here, and debate them, when my assertions and observations are dismissed as being irrelivent, before I even make them ?
You see, if you want to use the bible as an authority source and call it true, you need to prove that first. We don't dismiss it, it's that all of the actual evidence points to it not being true. If you have new evidence, please share it. You are asserting that the bible is true, establish that and we can move on.

No, they don't. They have a huge pool of slave labor that is virtually free, always smiling and willing to do pretty much anything they ask and a huge tax free income. Slave labor gets shit done. If you have to PAY people they aren't willing to be treated like shit and will quit or go work for a competitor for more money. It's easy to get things done when no one tells you that you're wrong.
