They keep coming!!
by finding my way inmy husband and i bought a house recently aand apparently our new house is smack in the middle of a diligent congregations territory.
they've been in our neigborhood twice a week since we moved in a month ago.
there are a lot of guard dogs in our neigborhood (yeah, i live in the hawaiian guetto) and they all go nuts when the witnesses are walking by.

Organisation-Directed God's . . . not God-Directed Organisations . . . I like that . . . and what's more, it makes more sense.
The JW's have got Jehovah running all over the place . . . poor bugger LOL

What you're going through is very real sister x . . . you have divested yourself of an entire belief system . . . that's a pretty momentous event when you've given yourself over to it completely.
We're left with a "what do I believe now?" feeling because the mind controlling doctrines we once espoused were so "absolute"
But that feeling does subside with time . . . as you find your own path.
fmw . . . I believe the book you're thinking of is "In Search of Spiritual Freedom" by Ray

Will you attend the Kingdom Hall for a funeral of parents who are still JW's? If not, do you tell them beforehand?
by ThomasCovenant ini was recently talking to an ex witness whose elderly parents, and in law parents, are still witnesses.. as shocking and incomprehensible as it may seem to both sets of parents, this ex witness believes that, just like every other human throughout human history, they are going to die.
now this ex witness has expressed to me that he won't ever step foot in a kingdom hall again.. he is in a dillemma as to what to do about their funerals.
he does not want to attend any service held at the kingdom hall as the service will be heavily controlled by the seven members of the governing body that reside in brooklyn and who don't know his parents at all.. he is quite willing to stand outside the hall, or attend the crematorium or gravesite or funeral home and also any wake that takes place afterwards as people are more free to express themselves in a less formal setting.

Personally speaking, I would attend the KH . . . it's only a building . . . and his parents have freedom of religious choice all said and done.
Best to just treat it like any other funeral . . . whatever Church the deceased chooses
Anything other than that will cause huge upset . . . is it worth it? . . . Not everyone who attends, say, a Baptist funeral is a Baptist right . . . same for Catholics or any other religion.
The GB has no hold on him . . . but he has the freedom to not be there if he wishes . . . he doesn't have to demonstrate that freedom at every turn just because he can.
Thinking individuals will realise that . . . and respect him for it.
In any case . . . no need to make that call too early . . . take time . . . things may change

I called it the "Spiritual Wilderness" . . . but looking back now I can only say this . . . be patient . . . take your time.
God is not going to punish you for anything . . . in time you will shed the WT induced guilt and fear which, whether you realise it or not, has "fuelled" your so-called "spiritual need"
I restricted myself to reading . . . reference books . . . also the Bible . . . Jesus words in the gospels mainly, as a narrative rather than piecemeal selected scriptures to support doctrines. It helped me to get to know "the man" as he is described there.
I prayed to him as well . . . It gave me a lot of comfort . . . and some breathing space.
Beyond that you will find your own path.
Hope this helps . . . all the best

this is a question that i have struggled with, not just as a jehovahs witness but as a believer in god.

Epicurus posed the questions which have only ever drawn excuses for God . . . never a reasonable answer . . .
Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God? Atheists often use this quote to prove there is no God. For me it simply asks why he has relegated himself to a simple observer of man's existence . . . the "to prove his point" WT answer doesn't cut the ice with me . . . I'm still waiting for his answer. When I get it . . . then he might be God

Why is sex suddenly pure and holy after you receive a marriage certificate?
by doubtful in...but gross and detestable any time before marriage.
if a witness couple who are engaged to one another, decide to express their love toward each other by engaging in sexual intercourse just weeks or even days before they're officially married, they are considered to be loathsome, unclean people.
the witness girl would be seen by others in the hall as a dirty little whore...and the guy would just be thought of as a horny young man who couldn't keep it in his pants.

Do Jehovah's Witnesses feel as though they are the only ones assisted by God in their lives?
by stillstuckcruz ini was thinking about this while staring blankly at the assembly speaker today.
a prestigious member of the gb.

Prayer may well be therapeutic . . . I've heard even some psychologists recommend it to religious patients.
I've never experienced or seen evidence that God actually "answers" prayers for anyone . . . except in peoples imaginations
As the captain said . . . "Time and unforseen occurence befall all men" . . . anything else is just "smoke and mirrors"
