  Ok, I understand the nature of this website and the infamy of JWs worldwide, but c'mon; the article says that he turned to Islam two years before deciding to off a bunch of gradeschoolers and that doesn't make it in the title with all the stigma of Islamic terrorism still infecting the media? And, this is coming from a most devoted Ex JW...

  "Evidently" "Obviously" "Clearly" "Surely" are all words used by the WT to make it look like they're not changing their doctrines, but instead clarifying and confirming to their followers what they've always tought....pathetic.

  Glad to have you on board. I'm new to this forum too and I've been out of the religion for only 8 months. My whole family is in but at least I have my wife who got out with me. My parents blame her cause it's easier to blame the one that's not your son. Truth is I never felt it in me to be a JW, I was born in it and never had a chocie to be here or not. I was born in it so I was stuck in it. Until I left my parents house. The whole "as long as you live under my roof, this is what you'll do" thing kept me going. Well, now I'm under MY own roof and I choose to leave. They don't like it, but it's my roof now! Haha, it feels so good to say that.

  Increase in demon activity?

  when i first started studying i was told that i would notice that the demons would try to stop me from recieving accurate bible knowledge.

  well i never really witnessed anything unusual like objects flying through the air, bleeding walls, increased nightmares or something of that nature.

  almost all the people that i know who have become baptized have a story or two about this having happened to them.

  LOL! I love that video!! Especially how ridiculous the opening song sounds when it takes that sudden fast paced second half! I always hated that song cause of that.

  Need help listening to conf. call

  when i call 712 432 8710 the call dose not go through on google talk any more.

  is there another way to listen in on the internet?.

  I NEED AN ANSWER QUICK!!! Sorry greenhornet, i can't post anything for the next 24 hrs so I'll post it here. If anyone knows when the english circuit assembly is in Florida I need to know. I didn't go to the spanish one and my parents are calling to see why I wasn't there. I need to tell them I went/going to the english one. I faded away 8 months ago but I'm trying to keep it a secret from my parents.

  Did you fake a prayer at the dinner table?

  i was terrible at prayers.

  it was hard for me to talk to someone i can't see or hear.

  everyone else put their heads down at the dinner table so i needed to do the same or i'll look suspicious.

  I was terrible at prayers. It was hard for me to talk to someone I can't see or hear. Someone who may or may not be there. Everyone else put their heads down at the dinner table so I needed to do the same or I'll look suspicious. I did it and just counted to 30 in my head to make it look like a prayer. This one time it was so embarassing cause the waitress comes to us (a table full of JWs) and we all have our heads down. Like we all fell asleep or something. It must've been an eerie feeling for her while it was an akward and embarassing feeling for me. It was even worse when they asked me to do a public prayer out loud! It was like one of those "Need a moment?" Twix commercials.

  100 = if armageddon comes tonight, i will survive into the new system for sure.

  back when you believed the wt was the truth, what range on this scale reflects your own assessment of where you stood with jehovah?.

  Long answer: I was the son of an elders and I had many "privileges" (more like burdens) in the congo like literature dept, sound system (congregation DJ) and microphone. I always turned in very few hours of service and I secretly hated service! It was my least favorite part of being a JW. Every time the brother would find me at the meetings and give me that little piece of paper with an assigment for a 5 minute talk, I would die a little inside. I couldn't stand speaking in public, or to strangers on their doors. I especially hated the monologues and demonstrations I had to do.

  I became a nervous wreck every time and my literature would shake in my hands when I presented them on the platform and on the door steps. I absolutely despised the amount of responsibilities I had and I didn't feel a love for Jehovah to fuel me on. It was peer pressure that moved me forward. Jehovah couldn't feel real to me cause of my anxiety.

  well, i am almost finished reading crisis of conscience... i have a few pages left and i have to say that my eyes have been opened.

  i am going to order ray's second book from freeminds.

  maybe not right away.... might try to let it all sink in and process.... does anyone have a concise comment on what ray's final beliefs were before he died?
