If you feel you need to keep up appearances go. If you don't go you can always say you went at a different KH, what are they going to do check your references? I went last year but this coming year I'm not going.

Welcome to the board. What a balancing act. I'm tired just thinking about it. I couldn't do it but more power to ya. I'm kind of an black and white kind of person. I have to call a spade a spade. I couldn't go to meetings or especialy go out in service and try to teach someone that BS. You seem to be straightforward, so tell your husband how you feel about him getting priviledges and how it would impact your life/relationship. Do you think it is the Truth?

The number of anointed
by Nordic in.
the number of anointed is virtually unchanged,.
over the past 14 years.

Well maybe because the annointed realize that they aren't annointed after all and fall away from the "TRUTH" and new people have to fill their spots so there will be 144,000 and the new ones are younger and the number is staying the same.

What exactly IS a "Publisher"??
by LovesDubs inthis was posted in nov by namewithheld: "link, yes, if a baptised jw does not turn in time on a slip of paper, they are not counted as a 'publisher' for that month.
so indeed, it is true that there are more baptised jws than the number of publishers reported.
on the other hand, you can be counted a publisher and not be baptised jw.

You can have the PRIVILEDGE of being a publisher removed even if you are not baptised and you do something wrong. They will announced that so and so is no longer an unbaptised publisher. I've seen this quite frequently with kids who in their teenage years become a bit rebellious.

What are your current beliefs on God and the bible
by Leander inwhen i first left the wts initially my intentions were to continue studying the bible on my own.
but now i really don't see the bible as being a true source of guidance.
as a witness i used to constantly read in the articles that god loves mankind, but how much love could there be if there are so many different religions all claiming to be the right one?

I am a Christian. I believe the Bible to be the inspired word of God. Jesus Christ is my savior. I follow him and not man or any particular organization. I agree with the point that the bible is a very misunderstood book. I think most people read too much into things. I don't think anyone has it all right. The only thing you must to do be saved is to accept Jesus Christ as your savior. If you put your faith in him you will be saved. Read Romans chapter 14. It says everyone may do things a little different and that is OK. That is what it means to me free in Christ. Don't get so caught up in various doctrines. You have to do what is right for you. The bible gives us certain guidelines to live by, beyond that live your life how you feel Christ would want you to. I don't think you can go wrong if you do that.

Doubts that led to your departure

what event made you realize that you were serving a phony organization, and what was the turning point that made you see clear?.

607 vs 587 BCE was what got me daring enough to question other little things that bothered me in the past but I was so convinced it was the only way to please Jehovah God by staying in that organization. When the new light was shed on the generation was published I started having some doubts back than but I just put them in the back of my mind, other little things along the way. When I did research on the 607 BCE and it proved false I then got the courage to read C of C and that was it I knew I had to get out.

Hey Matty, I feel for you. My family and I have been out for almost a year. It has been a hard year. We lost our entire circle of friends, my daughter lost her very close best friend. It is like a death in the family, I swear. Post where you are from and maybe you can hook up with some other XJW for support.
About the school, don't tell them you want to quit, just cancel at the last minute a few times, they will take you off.

WAY TO GO LB. I kept copies of some things it's good for research for counter-cult. Burning the rest of the stuff. I had several copies of books and stuff I threw it all out. Our garbage pickup person and the whole company is owned and operated by witnesses. I was kind of hoping they would see the stuff in the garbage. Not that I was trying to make a statement or anything!

This year will be my kids first Christmas ages 18 and 14. I am really looking forward to it and so are they. The witnesses always say the kids don't miss it.....yeah right. They are so full of it! We are going to visit my sister and her family. She is so excited that were are coming to visit here and celebrate. I grew up with Christmas it was a wonderful time for the family to get together eat buy eachother gifts. I have nothing but fond memories of christmas. I became a witness right after I got married. My husband's mother is a witness and he stopped having christmas when he was arouond 12. Christmas for him is not good memories, his parents would fight because his mom would always spend too much money and his dad would scream and yell. so to him Christmas was more of a good riddance. My husband is having a little difficulty with celebrating although he is going along with it. I don't think it's bad to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. Even if we don't know the day at the very least we can celebrate the fact that he was born and came to earth to die for us. I think it's worth celebrating. And I'm really looking forward to it. I just wish I would have done it 17 years ago.
