"The official magazine of Jehovah’s Christian witnesses is The Watchtower Announcing Jehovah’s Kingdom. In the year 1944 the Watchtower magazine began to speak about the governing body of the Christian congregation."
Please note the last part of the sentence…! 99% of all JW's don't have the faintest
idea about this.

Who has appointed the " governing body "??? The Editor's answer leaves no room
for different views :

Only a few lines further down on page 760 we arrive to
a …problem:

HOW THE GOVERNING BODY CAME TO EXIST
How did this governing body make its appearance in recent times?
Evidently under the direction of Jehovah God and his Son Jesus Christ. According to the facts available, the governing body became associated with the Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society of Pennsylvania. C. T. Russell was patently of that governing body back there in the last quarter of the nineteenth century."
I'm sorry but I do begin to have an headache.., so let's read again:
a) "According to the apostolic example of the first century C.E., these dedicated, baptized Christians known today as Jehovah’s witnesses have a governing body, as specifically noted from the year 1944 onward."
And
b) "The official magazine of Jehovah’s Christian witnesses is The Watchtower Announcing Jehovah’s Kingdom. In the year 1944 the Watchtower magazine began to speak about the governing body of the Christian congregation."
Sorry, but how can we reconcile the two above statements with:
c) "….C. T. Russell was patently of that governing body back there in the last quarter of the nineteenth century."???
If you think it is finished…it is not! There is another problem:
Remember the question on page 758? Who has appointed the " governing body ?
1) "… namely, Jesus Christ the Head of the true Christian congregation and the Lord and Master of the “faithful and discreet slave” class.—John 15:16, 19.""
Compare with :

Whether on the Board of Directors or not, they rendered themselves available for special work of the “faithful and discreet slave” class. They aided in the feeding and directing of the slave class, and thus a governing body made its appearance. This was evidently under the guidance of Jehovah’s invisible active force or holy spirit. Also, under the direction of the Head of the Christian congregation, Jesus Christ the Son of God. True, the members of that governing body were not directly appointed by the Lord Jesus Christ."
Did I read well? "… True, the members of that governing body were not directly appointed by the Lord Jesus Christ."
Time passed and we arrive in the year 2000.
Then at the conclusion of the annual meeting of the WTBTS of
Pennsylvania on October 7, 2000 Brother John E. Barr, of the "Governing Body"
told the audience that :
"…recently certain members of the Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses who
had been serving as directors and officers voluntarily stepped aside from the
board of directors of all the corporations used by "the faithful and discreet slave" in
the United States. Responsible brothers of the other sheep class were elected as
replacements.
This decision is beneficial indeed . It allows members of the Governing Body to
spend more time in preparing spiritual food and in otherwise caring for the spiritual needs of the worldwide brotherhood". (w. January 15,2001 p.31 - A special
Announcement -.
I did notice the following:
* No names given about "…certain members of the Governing Body…"
*No names given about .." …all the corporations used by "the faithful and
discreet slave " in the United States.
*One wonders why only in the United States.
*No names given of " …Responsible brothers of the other sheep class .."
who " …were elected as replacements."
*No names given until today …8th of May 2002 !!!
Why all these informations are not given to the Jehovah's Witnesses
so much publicized …" worldwide brotherhood"???
Then more time passes and we arrive in the year 2002, and "The Watchtower "
July the 1st 2002 edition, page 17 paragraphs 10 and 11, to receive the following
wonderful and fantastic piece of information, this time directed to the:
" worldwide brotherhood of the Jehvah's Witnesses ":
Following under the subtitle " Organizational Progress" we read :
§ 10 2nd part : " Further, about two years ago, there was another step forward.
an adjustment was made in the directorship of certain legal corporations, making it
possible for the Governing Body to concentrate more fully on the spiritual interest
of God's people rather than being distracted by the day-to-day legal matters."
§11 1st part : " Who is behind these progressive changes? None other than
Jehovah God.He is the one who says " I shall bring in gold." And he is the one
who goes on to say :" I will, appoint peace as your overseers and righteousness
as your task assigners." Yes , Jehovah is responsible for the oversight of his people.
The foretold organizational advancement is another way that he is beautifying his
people."
So there you are…you know the responsible ones!
Nevertheless we still don't know today officially - who are the replacements andwhich corporations .." are involved in this matter.
I hope that these reminders have not …upset you in anyway...
