she has a study with her teacher, and then she comes here and talks about it.

she learns that the wts teaches one thing to new ones, but something else entirely to those who are already baptized.

thanks for the post.
It is true and I do agree with your words:

"They'll get more information than they know what to do with and far more information than the WTS wants them to have. We are now seeing a perfect example of this in operation right before our eyes.

The WTS is in trouble because of the free flow of information."

Also , as was commented in another post, every PROSPECTIVE
BIBLE STUDENT SHOULD KNOW that, as long as you're a "student"
you can ask ALL the questions that you wish...but after the
baptism as " a dedicated Jehovah's witness .." the STORY
C H A N G E S completely! Ask around...!

i was surprised at her reaction.

someone was using rev 21:3 in the usual context, to show that god's presence will be with mankind after the big "a".. jw lurkers!

Question for Silent Lambs

as someone with one toe still dangling in the truth i have a question for you.... if you had not gone through the pedophile experience and started your crusade....how would you have felt with regard to boards such as this one?

obviously most other jw's believe this place is overrun by disgruntled apostates and would want nothing to do with anyone here.. i am just intrigued to know what you would have felt about this place prior to your experience (also about freeminds and ray franz).

you have a good question and I do believe,
that already SilentLamb, and other have given you thought
ptovoking points.

I wish to associate myself to Gumby logical and truthful
comment:

*Regardless of how good these ones who leave are, or how much they still love God and his word, they are still called apostates by the organization.That is not fair nor true.

*No organization that claims to speak for God or claims that it is God's true channel, should ever shy away from members who have honest sincere questions concerning their beliefs.

*When witnesses go to a door and a householder questions them on their beliefs, they will spend hours trying to answer them and return again at another time if they cannot answer them at that time.

*If a baptized witness who has been loyal for many years has many questions and begins to inquire for answers he has to do it secretly because if the elders were to find out he is questioning they will question him weather or not he believes this is God's organization or not. Does this make sense? "

As for the last point, from personal experience, if you DARE
to do that...the minimum that can happen is that you're put
in "...spiritual quarantine.." as someone with an INFECTIOUS
disease! You can imagine the ...rest!

Special Judicial Committees

you will have to understand that i have to change a few details here and there so that i can't be identified.. as many of you are aware i serve as an elder, and from time to time i have been asked by the service desk to handle matters for them by means of "the special committee arrangement".

(a phrase you will not find in any wt letter or elders textbook.

) just to explain.. "a special committee is often set up when, an original committee (ojc)decides to disfellowship an individual, who then appeals against the judgement.

As for the " judicial committees" I do agree with Ozziepost:
The truth is, the whole judicial apparatus is unscriptural. So it cannot succeed because it's man-made.

"There is no record in the Bible of a judicial committee.
There is no record in the Bible of an appeal committee.
There is no record in the Bible of a special committee.
There is no record in the Bible of restrictions placed on a re-instated person.

There's just no record!

About all we can say is the matter of disfellowshiping in 1 Corinthians."

Only few days ago in a conversation, I did answered almost
word by word, what Ozziepost wrote!

Furthemore, my personal feelings and thoughts on this
matter are very well expessed by Philo:

"I think the judicial system is inextricably part of the WT hierarchy, from elders up to the Watchtower directors. Without the executive powers of DF, DA, and shunning, the organisation could not maintain 'unity'. So as the organisation has grown, centralised control could only be maintained by intensifying these powers."

When in one organisation, you have to face these "...jud. comm."
simply because you "have openly expressed opinions and facts
that cast ...doubts on the sincerity of the WTS ..."
(personal experience)...well we are not very far from KGB,
Gestapo,Stasi etc.etc.

And finally the other comment by Ozziepost:

Very true, but the WTS applies it to everyone who dare
to expesss his/her thoughts challenging the Biblical
truthfulness of " her " claims, through the immense variety
of publications.

I do agree with you about:

Well, how does the Watchtower's claim of spirit-direction compare
to Moses? Look at Numbers 12:6 -- "Hear my words, please. If there
came to be prophet of yours for Jehovah, it would be in a vision
I would make myself known to him. In a dream I would speak to him.
Not so my servant Moses! ... Mouth to mouth I speak to him, thus
showing him, and not by riddles""

The analogy was congregations' elder = Moses !!!
To use the term presomptuos , it is not enough to give
the exact feeling.

To Patriot:

"You know it's funny how they claim that the elders are appointed by the "spirit" as you point out, but when the going gets tough and an elder needs to be "removed" from his position, and someones asks :"how was he even appointed"? then the same excuse surfaces-" Oh, Jehovah permits these things to happen to be able to weed out the bad".

That is exactly the same line they use all the time, to
justify the actions, which sometimes have prolonged for
many years "undetected "(???) from Es and Ms, even guilty
of extremely serious sins.

Then they would say" ...wait on Jehovah ..."!
