State of Victoria has announced that they will investigate ALL religions... including the Watchtower
by Alfred ina friend just showed me a message from steven unthank on facebook where he mentioned (about 4 hours ago) that the state of victoria will be launching an investigation into all religions, including the jehovah's witnesses... he also mentioned that he will likely testify.. i don't know anything else about this because the message was brief, but i assume it has something to do with the protection of pedophiles.... has anyone else heard this yet?.

:o That's crazy! Wow, very glad to hear though, no matter what religion/organization, there are too many accounts of child molestation... well, there should be NONE at all!!!
But yeah, this will definitely make the org and their little sheep feel like they were right all along, everything is going right on time...

Surprised by confessions of my brother

i was talking to my brother the other day... and he spilled the beans on some jw friends we had back in the day.
these were hard-core, religious jw teenagers, the kind that were chaperoned when they went on dates with good-standing sisters, the kind that, while they would not snitch on you, they would 'lovingly' offer counsel and all that.. .

I've heard of cases like this. Some part of the brain becomes affected due to injury, and perhaps it does alter one's ... preferences.

Odd question in July 15 2012 WT
by breakfast of champions inwhat if a powerful government were to hatch a plot to exterminate jehovah's witnesses as an organization?.
they ask this question at the bottom of page 23 of the july wt, and i thought the wording was kind of strange.
the target is not jws "the people" (as in nazi germany) but the org alone.

Fear is one way to keep the flock in line. I agree with those who have said this is their way of saying Armageddon is right on track, scaring their hearts into thinking they are being/will be targeted.
To be honest, I haven't met anyone, or heard any sort of body, going against the JWs specifically, but who knows...

i find myself attracted to certain authors and book series.. which reminds me, i need to download the grapes of wrath.. i love steinbeck's writing of historical fiction.
looking into the history of frontier america is so interesting when written in story form.. i read from most genres.. what's your poison?.

I have not one, but TWO, library cards, different cities, different coasts!!! And I read the heck out of books! I love books! I am very lucky to have such a gigantic library in my city, because I go through books like nothing :).
That said... I have a dirty little secret: I read YA. God I am a sucker for a good YA novel!!!
But yeah reading is NOT overrated. It's attractive, it can be the gateway to amazing litarary experiences, and it is an art in itself!

talespin - don't forget the awful, awful munchies. And the games you play, which then you loose because you're terrible at them, but you don't even realize it!!!
You know, those other wild, slutty girls knew exactly what you guys knew, that the JW brothers wanted to milk the cow, but not buy it. I don't know if you guys were bullied by them, but I've seen them in attack mode. We had many depressed girls-and guys- and I always thought it was absolutely insane how nobody did anything. That was the other crazy thing... the social 'caste', in a way. The bullying. But I'm glad you made it through talespin!!!
