Nah I just picked it up for £ 20m, feel free to stop by for a swim.
I plan on setting up an x-JW meetup one of these days

i have a number of problems with the noah's ark story that i could never find the answer to in the bible and so i thought i could ask here:.
1.how did noah get animals that are indigenous to areas he could not get to (e,g penguins, koalas, kangaroos, moose etc) .
2.the flood supposedly happened around 4000 years ago but there is evidence of civilisation dating back a lot further.
I want to know why Noah looks old in every illustration I have ever seen.
Sure he was 600 years old but he lived to be 900. And I can't imagine that would be the equivalent of 60 and 90 in our day. Especially when you consider he was having children at 500.
On a more serious note, what do people think about all the other flood stories that are out there? That is one of the things that religious people use to prove the flood must be true. Ignoring of course that many of these stories also have a Jesus like character as well.
i'm still in the matrix(the truth), but 'morpheus' and his team are valiantly working on a way to get me out.
in the meantime, everyday i am discovering so much about being a jw i never knew, like don't buy girl scout cookies, that i keep asking myself "what have i got myself into".. maat.
really lame for a first post, but i figure i should start some where.
Maat13 I'm pretty sure Gregor's comment on yard sales was a bit tongue in cheek. At least it made me laugh.
Yard Sales are the source of many JW urban legends where someone would experience strange happenings around their house after buying the odd item from a yard sale. Putting the item in the car usually took care of the the strange happenings until it was convenient to dispose of it properly. Burning it was always a good option. I don't know why you couldn't just say jehovah at it a couple times.
Strangely I know of 3 people who claim to have had these experiences. They included a bird cage, a hobbit book and a set of candlesticks. I know the bird cage was from a yard sale, not sure about the other two. One was a “ friend” of mine that I suspect may have been exaggerating. Another was an ex-hippie who may have been having a flashback. The third was from my Mom with one of her bible studies. I’ll have to ask her about that next time I talk to her. I remember hearing about how they smashed them up and threw them away.
in this yahoo answers quesiton jw apologists are trying to give the impression that the watchtower never published any information about parents fondling the genitals of their infants leading to masturbation later on.
the jw apologists claims vary from saying it's not true to accusing the questioner and one ex-jw answerer of not having proof and being untrustworthy with the truth.. i want to provide proof to the contrary but the online library doesn't go have magaizes as far back as 1973 when the article was published.
i think that the best proof would be a screenshot of the watchtower library open to the article with the statement highlighted.
Island man I see you posted the screenshot of the article
Kudos
per co last night, he mentioned in his talk that in oder for a brother to be recommended as an elder or ministrial servant he must have a regular and meaningful family worship night.
this will demostrate his willingness not to miss that important meeting and preside over his household.. so i thought, wow what a way to add to the "inspired" biblical list of qualifications.
serving jehovah is sounding more and more and more organizational..
Seems like a good opportunity for people trying to wake their families up.
They could use it to do extra research on the various WT quotes.
courtesy of watchtower87, the may 2014 km has an announcement on page 4 as follows:.
"beneficiaries of a government program known as deferred action for childhood arrivals (daca) may apply to serve as temporary bethel family members or temporary volunteers.
when answering questions regarding citizenship on the application, these individuals should identify themselves as daca beneficiaries.".
respectful_observer interesting point, i had never though about how the JWs dealt with the undocumented
Seems almost like they have a reasonable postion on this one. Althouh it probably has more to do with how many members they would lose if that started DFing people that are in the US illegally.
in today's 'astronomy picture of the day' are clearly shown rotating rings that move at 90 degrees and through each other.
it is celestial, mysterious, entirely possible, and physical.
luminous.

apart from being generally sad i can't understand why they chose a song that was already quite pure!.
Quite disturbing.
I am wondering how they keep the negative comment off of the video?
If this was JW video there would be two JW comments and 500 x-jw ones.
first, i cannot believe how dumbed-down and simplistic the writing is now.
we used to have study articles with substance.
the writing style now is for people with slow minds or at the level of junior high students with learning disabilities.
It is either 100 years of excitement or 100 years of being wrong.
Do you think the F u DS ever sit back and think “Wow we never expected to keep this scam last so long”
while out driving in the family car, caleb and his dad have some quality time together.
