The one that concerns me is blocking apps from being installed on my device. Like Apple and Google blocking the Parler app.

Should Difference of Opinion Be Squelched On Sites Such As FB or Twitter?
by minimus ini think that for the most part, dissenting views should be allowed to exist because of free speech principles.
one person may strongly feel that something is true while someone else may present “facts” that support the opposing view.
when that is the case, healthy discussion is mostly productive.

If The Jehovah's Witnesses Stole Your Past...Don't Let Them Steal Your Future!
by The Bethelite inyes, many here have lost many years of life due to being infected by this cult like religion.
for many it is very hard to let go of that life and those wasted years.. of course people need time to heal and this web site is a great place to do that, swap war stories and commiserate.. i was in for over 50 years.
so of course it will be with me for the rest of my life.

Yup, I left at 30 or so and the truth of the matter is you don't really know what you missed. But you do know what you are longing for so make those your goals.

I just LMAO....
by Biahi inon reddit, a pimo elder talked about the co special meeting with the co about all what’s important, tight pants!
omg we have a pandemic, some have lost their jobs, people are depressed, but let’s stop the brothers from wearing tight pants.
also, metro style haircuts.

I remember rolling my eyes at the caution against wearing your baseball cap backwards. Even as a hard core JW at the time I couldn't figure that one out. Not wearing caps with logos would have made more sense.

Especially odd since celebrating birthdays is technically supposed to be a conscience matter. Or at least not a DFing offence.

I suspect the GB would have no problem if all the "fringe" JW's took off...
Good point, kind of like how scammers use intentionally stupid emails to target the less "alert" people.

Are Jehovah Witness willing to end studies?
by Maria Nieves inhttps://www.jw.org/en/library/magazines/watchtower-study-october-2020/how-to-conduct-a-bible-study-that-leads-to-baptism-part-two/.
i recently came across the above watchtower article which spoke about conducting bible studies which lead to baptism.
it progressed to say that if the bible study instructor does not see growth within the student or the desire to work towards baptism, then the studies should end.

Depends on the weather. If it's nice out you might not want to spend an hour indoors. However rain or snow and cold, good to have a study or two that you can use to stay out of the elements. And if it is snowing don't forget to leave a WT at the nearest laundromat to start your time. That way you don't waste an entire hour diving the three miles to your student's house.

Wasn't there an article fairly recently that suggested even after the big A you'd still be required to obey the GB? i.e. they get first dibs on the million dollar mansions of the celebrities that didn't convert in time. I wonder if Prince will be getting his old house back?
I really sometimes wonder if the GB isn't intentionally trying to wake people up without coming right out and saying "we were wrong". Honestly I think that would be the humane thing to do.

How many TRUE BELIEVERS do you think are left in the Organization?
by pistolpete ini have a few jw relatives who are true believers.
by this i mean, they believe with all their heart that 1914 was the beginning of the last days, that this is the last generation, that we are in the very last of the last hour of this system of things, and that you should obey the governing body even if it does not make sense.
all of them are in their 60s and up into their 90s there is nothing you can say or show them to convince them or even cause a small doubt that the wt is not god organization.

I know for me I 100% believed it. It wasn't until I didn't believe it anymore that I started thinking about what I was actually believing in. -

I suspect I am actually better off from being raised as a JW. Neither of my parents were into parenting so I think being a JW may have keep me out of trouble.
Admittedly I probably had it pretty good as a JW too.
There was enough people around age in my area that I could pick and choose my friends.
I got to spend time with people from several different walks of life, both race and affluence.
My dad was an elder, which in itself is proof that god directs nothing in the JW world. But being an elder's child definitely has benefits.
And I got out early enough in life to get a job, save for the future and do a few of those things I was putting off until the new system.
