as a whole, i believe most witnesses to be pretty good people.
misguided, sure, but overall, decent people.. what i want are opinions on how good they actually are.
for example, i went to a non-denonimational church recently.
Witnesses are much like the rest of the WORLD, there is very little difference.
They teach many things in the meetings but in reality the witnesses are just like everyone else, after all they are just human.
That is why so many that are here on this site have been in committee meetings being judged for their actions, many times sexual situations.

i have just had a conversation with my son who is 8 years old and don't know what to do.
i'll start from the beginning so you understand.. as some may know my hubbie left me when i was still a witness for not believing the truth and also went off with another woman.
i then after a few months met a man i fell in love with instantly.
Just get him involved in something else......
Kids have many things that can divert their attention....soccer, school friends, computer games, trips, new friends, organized stuff/like boy scouts...etc....
The kid thing is the toughest.....no doubt....
I would stay away from discussing religious isses with him for a long while....if he is really interested in the doctrines I suppose my idea won't work, but I think he is just missing his friends, I know that I do.....!!!

clearly there is a lot of hate still lingering among many exjw's.
my coming to these boards about a year ago was an intersting and a growing experience.
i have learned a lot and it has helped me to feel even better about my decision to leave the wt.

many of you know i'm in a marriage that sucks and i plan to leave.
i'm thinking of listing my reasons to a therapist, asking if they see any flaws in my reasoning, anything i seem to be glossing over, am i rationalizing, you get the idea.. if they see nothing wrong, i plan to start making phone calls to get a lawyer.
here's where those of you who are divorced, especially the guys, can help.. what extra stresses am i to prepare for?

I am not an expert in these matters, but have been married to the same women for 35+ years.
I respond to the divorce, by saying that if you plan to re-marry in the future, where will you search for a new mate? I have thought about the possiblity in the past of leaving my family arrangement and seeking a new relationship. The pronblem that I always come to deal with immediately is, with whom will I replace this mate?
I sincerely believe that replacing someone that has been a part of your life for many years is impossible. You will simply trade this steady replationship, with someone who will just bring a new set of problems and issues.
The gay part of your argument you seem to be struggling with also. I have a brother that traded his JW world for the gay life, and he is miserable. He is gay and remains in a relationship with a gay partner. He has been dealt with by the org and persons out of the org very strongly. My son-in-laws and kids don't have anything to do with him and they are not going to any meetings and haven't ever really shown any real interest in the borg.
Things will change consideralbly in the next few years for you. If you have a child that is 18, soon there will be offspring and then your relationship with your family will be different anyway. When they reach 18 or so, the children will be old enough to make their own legal decision about who they want in their life etc.
The financial part of it alone will make your life very different? Your kids will always view you differently, especially if you go the gay direction?
So, if you arn't in a situation that is dangerous to you physically, I would reconsider and try to stay in it for a while.

EDIT _ RESPOND TO TIRED:After living with same person for a few years we are all tired of the relationship. This things change up and down over the years. Find something with your mate or outside of the marraige that is interesting to you and do that for a while, try golf that will suck all of your extra energy and time?

as some of you know from my sharing portions of my story on this board before, i disassociated myself from the jehovah's witnesses in 2001. my family, including my mother, sister, and brother, remain jehovah's witnesses.
i have an extremely limited relationship with my mother and sister.
i possess no relationship whatsoever with my brother, his wife, and their now 1 yr old son.

I had a JW sister that was studying with my wife about fifteen years ago. This sister recommended that she quit her job and stay home with the kids and teach them the truth. Well this might be considered good advice in JW circles, at the time I was unemployed and she would have us both at the unemployment office. Of course her family was very well off financially. I should have went to her and asked could we move in with her. Just the same mentallity that you are desrcibing.

i've been lurking about, checking out some of the evidence against the wtbs.
i am currently inactive but still an approved/baptized member.
i have seen all the 1914/607bce evidence; the blood transfusion quandry evidence; the current child abuse problem evidence and several other things that are damning to the wt doctrines.

Detective says: Breeze, the site indicates that all those who are interested can join in. Nowhere does it indicate that you must have been a witness to be here. I haven't read a "worldly" post yet that indicated that the poster knew exactly what it was like to walk in JW shoes.
I was just warning the lurking dub that this site has people that would have you believe that they speak from experience about being a JW, but have never been to a meeting. There are some here that I have read that will try to seem JW like but aren't.
I have no problem with any one being on this site....after all this site is view by free countries and those not free, so anything goes I guess.....??

i'm not a jehovahs witness...i dont know what i am.
when i was younger and my parents were divorced, i celibrated different religions with each family, attending many differnet churches, from methodist, to catholic, to christian and so on.
as a result, i was unable to seperate the beliefs of each religion and not really understand what i believed in and where i belonged.

recently a witness woman stopped by my house.
she offered the magazines.
I can't get that site to tell me anything that pertains to this subject......I did a search and it still is not helpful....
The Jews and the Islamic faith are not bedfellows and would never conspire to do such and event as the 9-11 event. They hate each other and can't even live in the same region, the Jews and the Palastinians are on the news killing each other everyday.
