Bible is God's word?

id like to hear some *reasoned* explanations for why you believe the bible is gods word.

ive been so fascinated by the study of *real* biblical scholarship since i began educating myself, i now find it incredulous that i used to take the bible as divine, along with all jws and tons of christians, including a good number here.

so id like to entertain your very best lines of evidence that this is the real deal.. mox

If he is trying to communicate why do it in such a format that brings so much doubt and wonder??

If GOD is to communicate with humans why not clear and consise language and direct information.....I created the Earth and it will last for xxxx, and then humans will be taken care of for eternity???

Instead of I and three and I am one and we will come to the Earth to redeem mankind and a female human will deliver the Christ and, yikes....get it??

?????????....more questions than answers....!!

Too much not clear for the GOD that I believe in to have done it with an instrument like the Bible?

Neighbours are JW's - Or are they?

hi, i've been reading through some of this forum, and it's certainly got more information than anywhere else i've found.

so i'm hoping that perhaps someone here might be able to give me some answers/ideas on a situation that is really puzzling me.. i live in melbourne, australia, with my husband of 12 years, and no kids.

for the past 6 months i've been living next door to my neighbours, unaware that they are jw's.

They just sound human to me...a bit rough around the edges for most JW's though...??

(Apostate Music) Birmingham 6 - Die For Jehovah

i'm rather surprised that nobody has ever posted about birmingham 6, a european industrial act from the late 90s.

they are ex-witnesses and their tracks are the closest thing to "apostate music" that i have ever heard.

unfortunately, i haven't been able to find much information about them on the web, but their albums are still available.

No personal information in profiles

when i put my profile together, i did not include my name or information because i still have family in the borg, and don't wish to be identified.

i was curious about others, though, and started looking at a lot of profiles.

i noticed many, if not most, of the members have elected to leave off most personal identifying information.

I left out the profile information for the same reasons you mentioned.....

I don't want to be labeled as DF'ed - DA'ed.....

I first had an e-mail address that I was going to use just for this and the e-mail system let out my secret ID....most e-mail system will allow you to be not readily identified.

Where is help for old ones/Battered wives etc.

there have been many articles from the wt regarding their position on looking after our aged ones and the abused wives and children.

where are the houses of refuge for these ones plus retirement homes?

Your career is not who u are?

for years i started a conversation with ......i am __xxx_____ and i am a salesman for__xxx____!!.

after being fired from a couple of jobs and while being unemployed i realized that i am much more than just a career person....many people get caught up in this.....many when they first meet you will ask, "what do you do" ?????.

i think all of us are much more than just a working stiff.

Please don't label me, because there isn't one that fits...

That is the point.....your career is not who you are.....most people are many things but the fact that you are a used car saleman and a dub....isn't the correct identification....

I am not so sure if I hadn't been fired a couple of times in my life that I would get it either....give life time enough to crap down your neck a few times and then you will get it better.....

i don't mean to sound morbid, but we're all mortal.

just as we are wise if we plan for our financial future, we are also wise if we plan for our demise (timely or otherwise), so that our relatives know our wishes and are not burdened with difficult decisions in the case a fatal event befalls us.

so for those of us who are currently unchurched -- we all know that if you wish to "tie the knot" you can quite easily get a "justice of the peace" to perform a wedding.
