FOURTEEN DEAD IN DENVER SHOOTING !
by Phizzy inmore than one gunman seems to be involved in this terrible act.
families were attending mid-night showings of the dark knight movie.. the media should not give publicity tothe names of the perpetrators, they often crave the fame.
give them that fame and others will crave it too.. my thoughts are with the families of all that are affected, a horrific and pointless act that will bring so much pain and sorrow.. edited to say, seems as though it was a lone gunman..

This is extremely shocking! My heart goes out to those who have lost their loved ones
I wonder what was going through his mind since he has been planning this for sometime.

Single Mother's Who Have Left
by dontplaceliterature ini'm sure there are some on this forum, but i'm not sure how many and who.
i'm hoping to talk to a single mother who has left the organization without the support of a husband.
i have a personal jw friend who is in the process of leaving the organization with her two small children and is having a tough time.

I was a single mom and my son was 3 when I started studying Bible with JW. I have always been independent prior to becoming a JW and I did not give up my job during my years as JW. I left last year. The only thing that i found challenging was explaining to my son why we were not JWs anymore. My advice is that it would best if your JW friend could find a stable job first before leaving.

Hello ~ New Here.
by witnomore inalthough i haven't been a witness for over 20 years, it has taken me that long to finally feel brave enough to join another church (aka christendom) and begin researching my past beliefs.
all this research has opened a few old wounds, but mostly liberated me from a lot of quilt.

Are You Raising An Introvert?
by darth frosty inits not easy being an introvert in an extrovert worldespecially when youre a kid.
it is even more difficult if none of the adults in the kids life recognize that the child is an introvert.
this doesnt happen only when the childs parents are extroverts, but also with introverted parents who have never understood their own introverted nature.. .

What brought you here?
by leaving_quietly infolks here all have one thing in common: they are somehow associated with jws, either were one, are married to one, have a relative who is one, has a romantic interest in one, are are currently one.
perhaps you are not one, but something about jws bugs you enough to have found this forum, and read it and contribute to it.
what brought you here?

I had doubts on WT stand on blood issue, education and few other things. I was afraid to voice out as my friends were all strict JWs. I googled JW and few sites came up. When I visited JWN for the first time I cried as I realized I was not the only one who had doubts. This site has helped me to exit WT cult.

This thread brings to my mind about an incident that happened when my son was 3. It was a Sunday, I took him to shopping complex. It was packed and we were just about get of the escalator on first floor when my son suddenly shook off my hold on him and ran off into the crowd. I ran after him, calling his name but he diasappeared. I informed the security officer and it took us 2 hours to locate him. He was on the 4th floor, crying. It was definitely a moment of OMG!
