Which came first, man or woman?
by sleepy inif men were created in the image of god , and women created for men , then why do all foetuses start off female?.
according to the bible eve was created out of adam.. well i can't speak for adam but the basic body structure of a human it seams starts off as female , men branching off at a certain point of developement due to man making hormones.it doen't get rid of our nipples though.. if men came first or are in some way superior in gods eyes then why the need to develope as a female first , shouldn't it be the other way round?.
so shouldn't have god made eve first?

Seedy3, I think what U.2.K. means is just the simple basic stuff in the bible that's really just common sense - i.e. we should all love and respect and listen to each other - (I think we'll just gloss over the misogyny and intolerance bits shall we?). The nice stuff - you know what I mean!

What do you fear most?

Sleepy
I was, and still am afraid of dying at the big A - I never thought I was any good, or worthy, even though I've never done anything that would warrant that feeling - except lack of faith I guess. But at the same time this "fear" has never made me more zealous, like its supposed to - don't you think thats weird?
There's a big part of me that can't shake this feeling off!

Welcome nanoo!
Well, that's great that they are talking to you again. I kinda hope they have apologised for the way they have treated you, but I guess they are embarrased and uncomforable with it all. Its so unnatural, the way they (and me too) are forced to behave. I hope you can forgive them.
I understand Nanoo Nanoo is Orkan for "Goodbye", well thats what Orson tells me anyway - you do hear the big voice like I do, don't you?!

Did U find Jesus rude?
by Matty injesus was a nice guy most of the time, but don't you think hes a bit rude and thoughtless sometimes?.
the watchtower today discussed the supposedly marvelous example that jesus showed to youths today, citing his escapade at 12 at the temple.
what hit home to me was that he was missing for three days - three days!

Thanks patio!
Can I add that I'm sorry if I offended anyone with this post? I didn't mean it to start a big theological debate or anything, it was just a thought I had today - perhaps I put it in the wrong forum!
Love to all

Did U find Sheperding Calls rude?
by Reborn2002 inreading the lb thread "home but hiding" struck a chord with me.. i remember when i was inactive for the period of about a year the elders made a few "sheperding calls".. did anyone else out there find these very rude and condescending?.
first of all, in my case at least they always showed up unannounced.
how much do you think those "hell-ders" would like it if someone randomly dropped by their house unexpected?

Way to go bluesapphire! You make me feel like a complete coward. You see I still toady to the elders now, as if they are so special! I find elders put a kind of condecending "hat" on sometimes, when they need to, thats why it's very difficult to be good friends with one. I hate all that dogma - from any religion actually, even as I type a thread that I started tongue in cheek has been hijacked by folk who take it all far too seriously!

I think they also put bromide in the tea.

Food at the conventions is just nostalgia to us in the UK. It was called "simplification".
The real story was that in 1968 the Watch Tower Society of Great Britain bought a job lot of "Hellas" chocolate bars - about a million I think - noone else wanted them, I guess. They tasted disgusting, and they weren't even real chocolate. We only had the food service until those bars were sold out. Unsold bars were kept in storage until the next year. Finally in about 1990 they sold the last one, and so they could finally stop the food service and get all the volunteers to actually listen to the sessions - something that none of them had done for about thirty years!

Welcome aboard! It's the first I heard of it. Oh dear, I've just been disrespectful to the main man in another thread - I've only got about six months to live! Doh!!!
