I believe the WTS has God's spirit

.....although in a very small amount.

in fact i beleive that many religions today have a measure of god's spirit.

the more i take time to really meditate and think about the bible and the world that we live in, it becomes more apparent to me that it would'nt make sense for god to destroy honest people simply because they are not associated with the wts.

Well, I think you phrased it spot on, I can understand the anguish of both you and your mom. You have to make sure that she knows how much you love her, and that you will always be there for her.

Well, I keep rehearsing what to say to my mum too, but nothing sounds right, yes, I've got this kind of thing to come. Speaking selfishly, I've learnt a hell of a lot from you about myself, because you are a couple of steps ahead of me in progress. I know the pain you are going through, I can really feel it when I read your posts.

I can't pretend that doing what I have to do will be easy, that’s been made pretty clear to me, but I have to be true to myself. You are an inspiration, and I'd like to thank you for always being honest about yourself here. You’ve helped me a hell of a lot, and who knows how many lurkers out there too scared to post, are feeling the same?

i just finished watching the dateline piece, and i'm sitting here with tears in my eyes.

tears of joy that the truth has come out; tears of sorrow for the children who have suffered; tears of pride at bill bowen's efforts and how they came into fruition tonight.

but most of all, i'm happy because i know in my heart that, were i still an active jw, that segment would have sickened me enough to make me quit.

Don't Walk..Don't Talk..

im just throwing this one into the ring to see what you think.

i know the wtbts are always beating the drum about not forsaking the gathering of ourselves together as some have the custom, but do they really want jws actually talking with one another when they arent around to monitor the conversation?.

if you think about it, jws would appear to have had their opportunities for social intercourse severely curtailed.

many can sit in their cars and 'listen', because it's too cold and uncomfortable in the stadium and then they can make a quick getaway!

This was mentioned at our service meeting the other week when the convention was discussed. It seems like the powers that be don't like anyone other than traffic and parking volunteers to listen to the programme in this way.

Depending on your assigned convention (many of them are indoors these days), there will have been some mention of it in one of the convention office letters, suffice to say that regular riff-raff brothers and sisters should be obedient and take their place in the stadium to enjoy the programme and association. Plus the fact, they are probably concerned about the fact that the attendants will not count these car-dwellers as part of the overall attendance in the ground.

Och, the wind will be a blowin’ in McDiarmid Park – the brothers in kilts will be suffering!

Amnesty International Report

the report noted that more than 1,600 conscientious objectors to military service, mostly jehovah's witnesses, were serving three-year prison sentences at the end of 2001. .

the conditions they were held in were often freezing, overcrowded, and the prisoners often were dealt harsh and arbitrary punishments, the report said.

A person’s right to refuse to perform any kind of military service because of his or her beliefs is a manifestation of the basic human freedoms - freedom of thought, religion, conscience and belief. As an Amnesty member I will do everything in my power to help these ones. I defend their right to refuse military service.

It is important to show tolerance and love and empathy towards Jehovah’s Witnesses. One thing’s for sure - persecuting them won’t make them see sense; it just makes them more resilient! And these are people – poor deluded people - it could have been me not so long ago!

Show a bit of love for Christ’s sake!

Will It Make Any Difference?

the fact is that all of us became jehovahs witnesses despite the fact that the wtbts has always had a pretty shady past that included false prophesies, questionable behavior by its leaders, twisted scriptures and the like.

i could, of course, be wrong but it seems to me that in spite of everything that is happening at this time, there are still needy people who will accept the crap they expound and join the organization.

it will continue to grow and prosper.

Well, Grunt, I aint no kid anymore but, if you'd had told me just a few years ago that I would consider leaving "the truth", well I would have said "Never, never never never!".

I've been through a lot with my family, a lot of pain, and despite appalling treatment by so called “brothers and sisters” I always remained steadfast, claiming that I wasn’t doing it for anyone in the congregation, I was doing it for Jehovah – it was still God’s organization after all, no matter what. Jehovah saw the pain I was in and would act, of course he would. But at the end of the day, I was basing my life on an organization that has a slender grip on reality to say the least. They follow a book, the Bible, full of barbarity and bigotry and inconsistency. They invent frankly bizarre interpretations of ancient prophecies, and manoeuvre them to fit Watchtower society history in the 20th century. I was brought up to swallow it hook line and sinker. I trusted my parents, and I sincerely thought I was going to live forever on a paradise earth.

I’m not really sure, but is something really happening here? I know the question is “Will it make a difference?” And one things for sure, I know it’s certainly working for me; but when I go to the KH, and I go out on the ministry, everything just seems the same.

I can’t help thinking though that this is the biggie tonight. I really hope so. I’m having a terrible time trying to work out how to get away from my life causing the minimum amount of damage, but I’m just hoping that this will make it easier for my family to understand.

An elder in London gave the list to me. I 'googled' it, and it doesn't appear to have been put on any site before, so a scoop for jw.com! I have been assured that they are true, and there's certainly nothing there I would not expect from the pioneers that I know - some of it is very familiar!
