Taking Someone To the Kingdom Hall?

i just had a funny thought and i thought i would share it with you guys and see if someone else hasn't ever done such a thing.. i am disfellowshipped.

for some reason, i thought about taking one of my friends to the kingdom hall.

this friend was raised hindu in another country.

Reproof and "discipline"

so i had this not quite random idea come into my head today.

most jw, ex-jw are familiar with the fact that when someone is reproved they may be given some other "discipline" such as being prevented from commenting at the meeting for some time.

what do you think would happen if someone rebelled against their "discipline"?

i wasn't sure where to post this, but since it has to do with family planning in a permanent sort of way, i am posting here.

i have stated on two previous threads, that were about the choice to have or not have children, that i was planning on getting a vasectomy.

about a month ago i went to see the urologist and i got scheduled for the procedure which i went in for on last friday.

i rarely post on this subject simply because i don't have the experience to generate or fully understand the intense emotions that come along with child abuse.

i have noticed some recent threads about proper punishment for a pedophile.

and today i saw an interesting article in the washington post today so i thought i would share it.

Some Good Actions from Organized Religion

the primary reason that i left the jw religion is because i realized that there was no conclusive proof that there is a god.

after i started freely thinking on my own i was able to see many other hypocritical and unreasonable practices and actions of this religion.

jw are always pointing out these things in other religions and it is true that other organized religions at time have unreasonable and/or hypocritical practices and judgemental beliefs or doctrines.

that sounds like an invitation to the meeting.

First Holidays as a Non-JW

this will be the first year i go through the holidays as a non-jw.

and on top of that with beliefs that can best be described as agnostic.

basically i think i probably won't do much different.

i'm a jehovah's witness who's doubts about god have been kinda forced to front by some adulterous acts on my part.

i don't really feel the the jw's are dangerous presently, at least not any more than any other religion.

i do feel the urge to free myself from it and my marriage within the week.
