Just got a call from an elder
by nolongerconfused inso i faded over a year ago...i told the elders that if i needed them i would call them.
1 year and 3 months later, today, i get a call from an elder who used to be my good friend...he calls and i dont pick up..he leaves a voicemail, saying "hello ____, please call me back at 444-444-4444 whenever you can".
i was like wow, this has to be one of those calls to get inactive ones back to the memorial.

Trust me... and I know this for a fact because I over-heard a phone conversation from an Elder's (dad) side.
The C.O.s are commissioning the Elders to go thru their records/publisher cards...find inactive ones (who have not attended meetings for a while) and call or visit them. many of these visits and calls will be to determine if you have plans of sticking with/ or coming back to the ORG.
By the tone, I sense they are "cleaning house" and writing off those ones as "apostates, or disassociated ones". I say that only because the words "not facing the music so they can still do things with their family and friends. Can't have it both ways, ya know"
They are to keep trying (oh, and they are using social media sites to track those ones down too.) asking friends, family, even members in other congregations who may have seen you in more recent times. Once they know "where you stand" or "what's going on with you" they will proceed to DF you and take you off of their list, or send your card to your new congregation with notes possibly.
Depending on how long you've been AWAY - you may be subject to have a personal home bible study. (to get you up to speed with recent light I'm sure)

In the US, "charities" are not held to the "anti-discrimination act". So, they can pick and choose the criteria of members. "JW's ONLY" is not against the law.
"Charities have the right to discriminate based on RACE, GENDER, RELIGION, etc.

Gum Chewing....Allowed in your hall or not?
by LostGeneration inso when i attended, this was never an issue - its been five years since i was booted.
a bit before i woke up, a couple visiting us (middle america) from the deep south basically told me this never, ever was allowed in their hall.
no 'priveleges' for a guy who chewed gum.

less than a year ago I was chewing gum and told an elder (who was holding the door open to the main hall for me) "Oh, wait...let me spit out my gum. Can't chew gum in the hall" The brother said "Oh don't worry - you can chew gum" After the meeting I mentioned it to my father (COBE) and he said that "the brothers have been advised not to make a rule of that. Chewing gum is fine" Been chewing gum ever since.
they steam the carpets every few months...and buy new carpet every few years. "F0ck da carpet!" LOL

Such personal interest springs from genuine friendship and
brotherly affection.—Rom. 12:10; 1 Thess. 2:7, 8.Funny how they're TOLD how to project something that should emote automatically from within.

My Watchtower Fantasy
by metatron ini get a winning powerball ticket and then the fun begins:.
i set up a scholarship for a nearly 'free ride' in any academic field (except liberal arts, for god's sake!
) for any jw who has maintained at least a "c" average and who is disfellowshipped or disassociated during the period of education.

My Watchtower Fantasy - a sex tape gets leaked of Anthony Morris III giving it to Sam Herd and the talks about how a TRUE CHRISTIAN wouldn't believe those lies b/c with technology, people can alter who's on the videos or pictures. (I wonder how many would buy that...and how many would actually go to a site to see if it's really true, then leave)
another fantasy would be 8 navy seal snipers assigned to each GB member at an international Convention "take the shot" while they're on stage. I'd love to see who'd make up the next GB or who'd appoint them.

Someone I know wants to go back to the meetings
by StephaneLaliberte ini am presently fadding out and a person that i know sent me an email telling me he was going back to his meeting.
how can i let him know that i think he probably will be better outside if he keeps trying without running the risk that he goes back and forward the email to a local elder?.

Simply tell them "as long as you're sure about it and it's what you want to do. I know you've researched the organization during your time away and have heard both sides of the story, so to speak. Peace be unto you."
There will be some that escape, and for whatever reason - go back. Nothing you can do about it really. Everyone that does so, wakes up in their own time and in their own way.

Jehovah WILL provide......
by quellycatface inhi guys.. just found out today that my landlord is selling my apartment.
he says he selling it with me as a sitting tenant, so should be okay.
i'm still a bit apprehensive as i've been here nearly 8 years and my son is in year 9 at the local school.. my mum's words of wisdom, were, of course, "jehovah will provide.".

And if Jehovah doesn't provide... call it Satan trying to test you....and then when you bounce back - that's Jehovah stepping in again.

Big convention in Milwaukee June 2014

Rates may be only a LITTLE LOWER than normal, and Parking costs at the hotels (decks) are very low compared to the usual (ex. normally $25per day ends up being $5 for the JWs) depending on where you go.
No doubt the WT has "promised" that these hotels will be booked - guaranteed $$$- at the hotels. Thus a contract is drawn up and discounts are easy to get when you promise all rooms will be occupied for said dates.
