Tell her a good JW isn't supposed to participate in competitive activities. And tell her too bad she is a JW because if she is so smart, she could have gone to college and wouldn't have to still be cleaning other peoples messes at 59 years old! -

The Prince conundrum
by ElderEtta in2 questions remain in the passing of brother prince:.
will an autopsy, that won't be made available for several weeks, reveal that he died of a drug overdose?.
did prince bequeath a large sum of money to watchtower corporation upon his passing?.

Just read he has been cremated and a private service was held at his estate. That was quick. Tastefully done though avoiding the circus atmosphere around so many celebrity deaths. -

Celebrities , Adulation , Lifestyle , is this for Jehovah`s Witnesses ? Isn`t it a form of Idolatory ?
by smiddy inof course this thread is inspired by princes sad death , yet i wonder how the average j.w.
nowadays.. from what i have gleaned from the many threads about his death their seems to be a reverence about him even on pro-j.w.
sites.. i have been out for about 25 years , yet in my time in the "truth" anything that put you on a pedestal was a no , no.. competition in any form was discouraged , sports especially.

I thought the same thing when I saw this picture! But you know, the queen really does look good for 90, if only she would get a decent hair stylist. Anyway, haven't had an interest in the royals since Diana. Harry is the only good looking one now. -

"It's the demons..."
by pale.emperor inone thing that really frustrates me inside is how quite a few jw's (especially my family) actually believe that demons like to inhabit second hand vases, or clothes etc.
my sister and mother are so bad with this that they wont even talk about it - because even talking about it "brings demons into your home".
so any attempt to show them that it's unscriptural is shut off with, sometimes them literally going "lalalalalalala im not listening".. i used to believe it myself (why wouldn't i?, i was told by my mother and father it was fact).. what i'd like to point out to anyone that would let me debunk it is this:.

Sowhatnow You have a witch in your family? So do I, she's called a mother in law! But really, I agree that it was around a lot in the 60's, you weren't even supposed to think about such things because it would invite the demons in. Funny how Witnesses feel this way when so many are dependent on Goodwill for their wardrobes. -

Sounds horrible. Yeah, I was going to say Starbucks, donut shops, and fast food places, what with no more service groups needing to take their "breaks". -

by atomant infor some reason this subject has not received much attention over the years which surprises me.theres many conspiracy theories floating around on the internet and lve done my fair share of due diligence on the matter.the school is still out on this one.l find it very hard to believe humans are the only intelligent beings out there.has anyone on this forum ever seen a ufo or experienced a close encounter?

We in the US are hoping the mother ship returns to take back Trump before November. 🚀
My dad who was a very serious and level headed person swore he saw one from our back porch. This was in the early 60's when the space program was taking off, so who knows, could have been some test aircraft we weren't familiar with.

Love it that they are having a "cash crunch". Then they say "younger Witnesses are studying and securing jobs for themselves". GOOD FOR THEM!! (Worth shouting about). Which would maybe mean that the younger ones with better education, better jobs are NOT contributing to pick up any slack in the coffers. Wonderful. -

Ideas for letter to Dr about blood card blackmail and what it means?
by purrpurr infollowing on from another op who brought to our attention the new draconian blood card policy .i'm planning on visiting my dr to discuss this issue in advance.
i'm planning on telling her how jw's and possibly me will be blackmailed into signing this but really won't want the hlc involved and may want blood if needed.. i'm thinking about writing a letter that could be kept on file for future reference outling these issues, what do you think i should say in it?
ideas gratefully received thanks x.

How can they think they can even involve themselves in anything private between you and your doctor? There is something in this country called the HIPPA law which prevents them from discussing anything with your doctor. And who heck calls the elders if they are on the way to the hospital, or why tell them at all if you are having a scheduled surgery? Are there really so many who feel the need to tell elders every detail of their lives? Sad, really. Next they will be wanting to read over everyone's will to make sure nothing has been left to a DFed family member. -

I like how it looks in other people but not for myself. A question specially for women.
by StarTrekAngel ini like how it looks in other people but not for myself.. this is a phrase i have heard often from my wife.
now i am to a point where i am trying to figure it out if this is something all women do or say.
i can understand how you would say this if you were talking about a type of clothing that doesn't go with your figure, except that you may add the disclaimer... "if i had that figure i would wear this".

Women say stuff to mess with men' minds. It's something we do for fun, because we can.😈
