For Christians and anyone with any wits "other sheep" = Gentiles who became Christians soon after Jesus death and joined with his original Jewish disciples and who together became "one flock" who all have "one hope".

i wrote a letter to the elders of my congregation about my family wanting to fade and voicing my disgust at the way they handled matters with my self and family whilst i was in their congregation as we were treated with contempt and so were my children just because we were different.
i personaly sacrificed my entire life for these brothers giving and giving and giving my self materially and physically, and every other way possible together with my family to the point of loosing all my posessions including my family and most recently my mother who contracted parkinsons.
as you all know we looked after her for many years together with my wife and kids without the help of the congregation nor my siblings.
They are spreading rumors about my family in the community
Just remember that they're not really spreading rumours about you in the community...or I shouldn't think they are. (If they are you have recourse to the law of the land.) They're almost certainly spreading rumours among the JW community, and that's a very different thing. The JW community is in a massive minority, that they don't see when they're within it.
They just don't matter! Who are they? They're just a load of brainwashed people following a self-serving group called the WTS, who may, or may not, be suffering from a God delusion.
So don't give them any power over you by letting it worry you. You're fine, you're free, and you can just walk away and tell them what to do with themseves.
Oh, and don't answer the brother-in-law.

I am very sad for you that your wife has left taking the child, and I absolutely agree with those urging you to insist on your rights...and also, on the rights of your child to see you! Children have theitr own rights and they deserve and need to see both parents.
Congratulations on taking your stand and acting as you thought. This thread also helps me to understand those who don't feel able to do that.
I've had to make some hard decisions in my life, and like Moshe, I've found it's always better to face up to things and just do it. A clean cut is better than leaving something to fester or gradually scraping away at it.

if the governing body was truly convinced themselves of the impending disaster and the fact that the end is imminent would they not focus their efforts in spreading the message through effective means such as telephone, television, internet, social networks etc?

They can't really believe it because they've chosen such an obviously ineefective way to promote it. Not even just by going door to door, but door to door with a message no-one wants, and dressed in clothes that instead lleave people saying, "Look out, JW's coming" when they see them coming down the street!

I'm not sure what apostate leanings means? I thought apostates were Jehovah's Witnesses who were believing "false" teachings (from the WT point of view) and maybe spreading them too.
How can someone who is studying have apostate leanings?
