Did you fake underlining the WT?
by shepherd ini read on another topic " i remember when i used to carry microphones years ago in the jw cult- only about 30 % had their wt's pre-studied, the rest just wing it i truly believe" and it reminded me that people will assume you are not familiar with the material if you have not underlined, and that there will always be those who observe the lack of ink and consider you must be unprepared (and so 'weaker' than them).. many times i used to fake prestudy just for that reason.
its easy to do, underline a random sentence or 2 in each paragraph or the sited scripture.
you can wizz through an entire article in 3 minutes....did anyone else do that?.

Always read them, hardly ever underline, brought up not to write in books.
I don't care what others think. It's what I know and do that counts.

Jesus is NOT the Mediator for the Great Crowd?
by Resistance is Futile inso according to the watchtower, jesus is not the mediator for the great crowd.
evidently jesus is only mediator for the anointed.
this means that about 99.9% of jehovahs witnesses cant say that jesus is their mediator.

The only thing is, that prayers to Jehovah are made through his only-begooten son, Jesus.
That's pretty close to mediating.
But, to JW's, Jehovah is much, much more approachable than, for instance, to Catholics, who will habitually light candles to mary, Joseph, and all the saints as well as praying to the Sacred Heart etc. To JW's, Jehovah is very personal indeed.

I need a name for a new theatre group...any suggestions welcome
by Lozhasleft ini'm starting a new theatre group in our area...a mix of adult and young people with a community feel....i need to 'catchy' name to get it off the ground for my advertising etc.
it will be done on a voluntary basis so no great costs for anyone joining.
i live in an area called swinton, but swinton theatre group sounds a little 'flat' if you know what i mean?.

Resolution on JW Case in France
by Blind Willie McTell ineuropean court of human rights vindicates jehovahs witnesses in france the european court of human rights published its unanimous ruling in our favour against the french government's demand for 60% tax on donations back dated to 1993-1996 for $79 million.
this will have great implications for other european countries who would like to do the same thing to us and effectively stop our work.
they sought to obligate the association of jehovahs witnesses of france to pay 58 million euros (over $82,000,000 us), which far exceeds all the assets of the association.

I think the French government are privy to information we dont have, the taxed amount is said to be excessive but is it really?
63% tax has got to be excessive for anything.

WT loves to berate Catholics for praying before statues and through saints. But if you ASK a Catholic, they will say they are really praying to god, but using these things as a vehicle.
Not quite right. They are asking the saints to pray to God for them, or asking them to join their prayers to ours. In essence, they are in fact praying to saints, though never assuming saints are divine. Same with Mary. Asking her to intercede with her son on our behalf.
Yes, the statues are not perceived as gods or idols, but they may be at times referred to as miraculous and they are considered to have sacred properties.
Through studying with the WT, I came to realise that this is not acceptable.

I decided not to go to the IFB church I been attending
by andys ini have been going to an ifb baptist type church for about past 3 months, i started going in march and have decided to quit going, need advice on how to send them a letter i don't want to go anymore, its a soulwinning, king james onlyism type church, wow are they ever putting pressure on me to be in church every time the doors are open, i explain to them that i work alot of overtime, have my own home to take care of, also i have my ham radio hobby that i am involved in and also like to do volunteer type work, since i been missing alot of church every sunday i get a phone call from the pastor on why i wasn't in church, now i am to the point where i don't even answer my phone anymore when they call, but wow the pressure, its very irritating how legalistic church attendance for certain churches has gotten.. .
on the other hand i have decided that i still want to go to some sort of church, for a very short time in februiary i was going to a communicty type church where everyone is wearing something different, i noticed that alot of people wear blue jeans, even the pastor wears blue jeans, also its a non denominational type church that has alot of volunteer opportunities which i love doing, i have decided to go back to the non denomminational type church since i don't feel no pressure there.. .

Oh yes, I know that urban legend. They say it is because if you look at the number six on an EAN-13 barcode, you'll see it's two thin lines. And the lines at the beginning, the middle and the end of the barcode are also two thin lines. THAT'S 666! GASP!
In the version I heard, the last two stripes perform no function known to man, THEREFORE they contain demonic and Satanic control frequencies.
And people believe it...

Loz, chamomile tea works like a charm, for me.
If you're in the UK, try also cherry and cinnamon...Twinings do it, you can get it in the supermarket.
I suspect your brain is still working overtime reacting to your move, because after all, moving is one of the most stressful things in life.
