the wt justified their use of he in this instance, because in greek the word is masculine gender.. (aside from the ludricrousness of this argument - english does have neuter pronouns).
have they changed he to it inthese passages?.

There is something about Anthony Moriss III that makes me think something will happen with him. Such a huge ego can't be so anonymous with a global organisation at his feet. I know that is vague, maybe he will initiate a head governing body role, maybe he will tour, maybe he will do some kind of global annual, online talk? His humility is somewhat lacking and he likes the sound of his own voice, he seems hungry for attention. The last 10 years the GB have strived to become anonymous for legal reasons.... I think he will stand out as different in that regard.

I have been saying for some years that the literature will be made available online for printing yourself and that harcopy literature will reduce. When I first heard of 'JW.ORG' it also sounded like PR speak to me and I assumed they were heading for a re-branding, I was suprised to see this go so far as shops called jw.org, posters in USA with JW.org on buildings and now these town centre carts. I truly believe it was to divert from google traffic. They forget how easy it is to tag everything with JW.org. In fact we should use that term far more often ;) xPredicting the future is as simple as ...
1) assume it is just a human orgaisation
2) like every human organisation, finances and brand are the most valuble asset
3) any future changes will protect said finances and brand
Now look at the organisation and have a guess at what you would do to save cash and protect the brand....
e.g. increase fear of leavers, increase fear of secular information on the organisation and it's doctrines, sell branches, reduce number of assembly events, reduce size of literature, dissasemble the organisation to protect assets, disconnect doctrines from the organisation and make it written that these are matters of conscience with unwritten rules that will enduce shunning.... etc etc...

WT ain't going out of business.
by joe134cd ini've heard this said in other posts, so now i'm going to combine it in one post.. the $28 million awarded to conti is only drop in the bucket for what they are worth.. there would have to be 100 s of successful sex abuse law suites before they would feel it.
quite frankly i don't reckon there would be enough with the right circumstances to have a successful case against wt.
having a dozen or so cases isn't going to break the bank.

The power of the cont case isn't the number od donated dollars into the contribution box, lost to criminal punishments but the tarnish on the WT ivory tower.
Most JW's see the org as pure, white as snow, gods government on earth. Why? Because this is what Watchtower tell them.
Anything that shows people that these uneducated book publishers with there hand out, are no different to everyone else, that is the power of the Conti case.
No longer can they claim that the preaching work will suffice for the judgment of mankind. Anyone knowing about the case and all the other unscriptural activity of WT, can simply state that such things are evidence of the organisation not being sufficintly scriptural or of the spirit of the word.
No longer can WT play the innocent, never been caught being naughty card like all the other FALSE religions. Now Watchtower is no different.
Of course, Watchtower have been here before, be it Russell selling miracle wheat or being divorced for having 'octopus hands', or Rutherford and the physical fight at HQ that required police intervention, as reported in the news. The reality is that these guys have always been VERY human, but over the 80's and 90's they became a little invisible to the real world, and in that nonchelance they painted themselves white, because the only people really looking at them were people who were not allowed to say otherwise, even Gov Body members who left due to consciential crisis.
Anything vocalising the humanity of Watchtower is helpful. As for the finances... Well, scientology is still making a fortune despite all of its negaive attention. It doesn't really mean much, beyond, the disgusting nature of humans SELLING spirituality, be it scientology, the pope or Watchtower, the money is actually useful in understanding the very basic motivations of such movements.
Nothing organised by a sincere deity would ever have the need of involvment of our financial institutions.
God would not need our money! Men do !

I need help in dealing with a toxic family member!!!!
by hoser ini have a close family member who is a pro in using shame to try to make me feel bad.
they are coming to stay at my place soon and the issue of me and mrs hoser not attending/ doing field service will come up no doubt.. i need some advice on how to deal with this because whenever i deal with these relatives they make me feel worthless.
it is probably part because they are jw's and jw's motivate by fear and guilt.. .

Christians please answer something for me
by confusedandalone inor should i say some things.... reading over another thread and a number of other threads i have to ask, why are we making excuses for jesus / god.. how can you fathom and all powerful god who created the universe and all the laws that govern it was not capable of:.
1. making sure the proper pronunciation of his name is not available.
2. that all his teaching are not preserved in an easy to discern manner so that ther is no confusion.

I didn't know about Wahlber's past violence and racism. I only read about it recently, what a horrid human he was as a youth. Good actor though. Once you have read it, you can't help looking at him and thinking 'hmmmmmmmm'.

Announcement made about me
by KariOtt inhubby informed me that an announcement was made to his congreation not to approach us when we are out together.
this was done at his request.

I can see someone going to the elders and saying "bros and sisters arent making it eas by approaching us in the street and being nice, how will my wife learn if she gets treated the same?"
For me, IF he did that, or IF he lied about doing that..... I would have to seriously question who I was spending the rest of my short earthly life with.
