when i found out it was up i told so many people frantically that there is a new study article up and that it had so many changes.

my mother started crying saying how happy she is to be a part of an organization that is truly directed by jehovah... only the true faithful and discreeet slave could have such insight.... another person began to say how great it is to see the celestial chariot on the move.. .

Julia - I believe the MAJORITY feel that way. There are so many loops and stretches that the average JW just basically says "wow.....I don't understand. Good thing the FDS does though! And it sure is good that God isn't going to judge me based on MY understanding, but rather, how closely I follow the direction of the organization."

She is captive to the concept that somehow someway even through lies, cover ups, mistakes etc.......this is STILL GOD's ORGANIZATION. Has she read Don Cameron's book "Captives of a Concept" yet? Until she can realize that there is no way God could have chosen them in 1919......she will remain in fear.

OMG. The CULT SPEAK is awful! True JWs cannot even speak without sounding like a controlled puppet!

I think this is exactly as many predicted. I believe this was a calculated move by the GB. I think they know this will weed out the thinkers, thus causing them to lose a scant percentage of their base followers but not enough to cripple them financially. It also allows them to grip the remaining flock even tighter since the remaining flock is now willingly putting 100% trust in 8 men.

Disfellowshipped for PARTAKING

i wonder if anyone has ever been disfellowshipped just for partaking.

of course they would eventually tag it as apostacy, but the real reason would stand - and could get the attention of local media.. .

the newsies tend to shy away from doctrinal entanglements, but the idea of a "christian" church disfellowshipping one of their own for taking the sacrament - surely that would raise someones eyebrow.

it was yesterday morning and hubby and i were having a huge sleep in.

it was just after ten, and with me being a bit flu-ey i was quite capable of staying in bed longer.

hubby was feeling it too, and we were pleasantly drifting in and out to the sounds of birds.. then suddenly, cloomp, cloomp, cloomp up the front stairs, then "rap-rap-rap" on the front screen door, that rapid-fire, strong knock of the practiced door-knocker.

I agree with Satanus. There ARE some good hearted COs and elders out there. But make no mistake. They are company men. The need to protect the organization pervades even the most sincere of hearts.
