as i parked my truck and started to get out, i saw my sweet lady burst out the front door and come running to greet me.
"did you hear the news?

i continue to predict that there will be an increase of suicides.
and other tragedies related to the huge amount of mental and.
emotional illness among jw's.. the scary place to watch will be japan.
not so fast, LaRoucheLover!
A fellow doomsayer of some renown (Martin Weiss) says the
Japanese hold 447 billion in U.S. stocks and bonds, not trillions.
While that's a lot, the balloon doesn't have to pop. Too many
people are now aware of Japan's troubles and are getting prepared
for it. The Japanese are already selling off holdings which
will deflate the problem. Furthermore, foreign capital may
FLEE to the U.S. - rather than leave as economies fall down
because the U.S. has stability and technology and growth.
Japan and Europe have aging populations and poor growth.
The Third World has instability.
The U.S. may prosper from their troubles.

I was just casually talking with an old (loyal) Witness
friend on the phone last week. She is worried about a
sister in her congregation who has tried to kill herself
more than once.
The pressure is building up...

Chances are good that Japan's economy will collapse in the next
two years - their population is aging, their economy is
contracting, and their banking system is breaking down.
There already have been stories of Witnesses taking their own lives
in that country.
As the Watchtower claims their flock, with endless demands on their
time and money, THEY HAVE A RESPONSIBILITY for these folks.
To the extent that they fail to prepare for these hard times,
they will share in the bloodguilt. Too many sad, afflicted
brothers and sisters live life looking for 'pie in the sky'
that has never arrived in 120 years.

if there's one thought that's truly unthinkable or beyond.
an average witnesses' comprehension, it's the thought that.
more than one religion can be true.. in reality, it's not that hard to fathom.. first, start with the thought that god is everywhere and in everything.
If there's one thought that's truly unthinkable or beyond
an average Witnesses' comprehension, it's the thought that
more than one religion can be true.
In reality, it's not that hard to fathom.
First, start with the thought that God is everywhere and in everything. Every star, telephone pole, bacteria, or human
is a part of God. Creationists love to put God in every function
of the universe but rarely admit what that would imply -
namely that everything is part of Him.
Secondly, since all things are part of the Divine, God
and his universe work rather like a physical body with
all its self adjusting internal mechanisms. No one has
to worry if the laws of the universe apply to a distant
planet - or concern themselves that the protons in the atoms
of your skull know how to behave like the particular particles
that they are. "God as mechanism" makes so much more
sense than one bearded guy on a far away throne.
There was a cartoon of God answering millions of phones
representing prayers - "Hello, this is God, can you hold?".
That's how silly it is.
Since God is all and in all, religions simply serve human
needs in particular times and cultures. Some may be generally
more effective in promoting human progress (Protestants over
Catholics and Muslims) but they all exist to serve human
needs - like Christianity in giving hope to slaves and the
oppressed.
The idea that this organization is the "truth" is foolish
in particular because it so ineffective in raising kids
or healing depression.
I try to see the good in other faiths - Islam, while leaning
towards aggressive conquest, has produced some good
geometric art. Mormons help with genealogy. The Dalai Lama
tells folks that happiness is the purpose of life.
I don't see much permanent good that the Watchtower will
leave behind when it fades into the shadows. I guess it helped
marginal people cope with the 20th century - it's an anachronism
now - a kind of 19th century relic that belongs in a museum,
instead of bothering people with its demands.

sometimes, a business or religion survives because the leader(s).
takes a personal interest in its survival.
supposedly, rutherford.
Sometimes, a business or religion survives because the leader(s)
takes a personal interest in its survival. Supposedly, Rutherford
"passed the mantle" to Knorr and Co. before his death - in imitation
of Elijah and Elisha.
But what happens when the leadership becomes corporate and
bureaucratic? What happens to the collection of traditions
that make up a subculture?
It is very significant to me that they abandoned a 120 year
tradition of subscriptions in the U.S. The rumors of downsizing
sound like advice straight out of a college business textbook
for dealing with a "mature" industry - headed for the sunset.
I wouldn't be surprized at anything, at this point.
It's changing to business, all the way.

jehovah witness pastors has a sheep in their care arrested.. hi my name is david wiltshire and i have suffered horribly from the hand of my pastors.
because i know longer believe the jehovahs witnesses are the only true religion i was disfellowshipped from all jehovahs witnesses i cant even come over their houses any more, they refuse to return my greetings.. the worst torture that they have put on me is that my little grand daughter, who i used to give horsy back rides to cant even be allowed so visit with me for fear both she and her parents could be disfellowshipped.
the watchpower teaches that you cant fellowship with disfellowshipped persons, so they are good jehovah witnesses and obey the watchpower.. some say the jehovah witness religion is a mind control cult.
Can't somebody cite precedent from child custody cases
to fight against this breakup of families? Can a case be
made for grandparent's rights?

i will never forget the saturday, i was in field service about 10 years ago.
we came to this one house, a man in mid- thirtys came to the door, we preceded give our sermon the man said i m very, very grateful i dont believe the way you do!my friend and me looked at each other a little confused.
the man said in again i really thank god, i dont believe the way you do.
Go back to the book "Children" in Rutherfords' day.
He tells the "Jonadabs" that having kids is a bad idea
with the End so close.

i gotta wonder if the organization will be forced.
to make big changes because of 'reaping what they've.
sown'.. witness kids get critical thought beaten out of them.. new converts have dried up.
This organization is going to put to the test
the phrase
"too stupid to live"
It ain't gonna be pretty.
These guys can be beaten - there's never been more
proof of that than now. Even if the average Witness is
a brain dead zombie, a few missteps, a few lawsuits,
and the whole thing could wither away. Remove the cash
flow and see what happens.

you may be right - you could have a 'body' still living
with no brain.
God, this is sick!
Call the Watchtower the "dumb and dumber"
organization!
