no offense Gorby....it's easy for me...I just don't go. Mrs Kensei asked me tonite if I was going and I said "no" she said ok...She is awesome...but really..she knows that I could not go knowing what I know. I don't go and I never will. I am one of those faders who just stopped....like slamming on the brakes. I know the gossip is flying...but.. well F-them..

If the pup is chewing "things" then try lots of chew toys. That's what we've done. If chewing fingers then try shoving them in its mouth, not enough for pain of course, but to make the act uncomfortable and of cours with the requisite firm "no"...and remember not all mouthing is bad. They show affection that way.
Have fun training..it's worth it in the end.

Have you grown detached from caring about JW family and old friends?
by tootired2care inafter being out of the borg for a year and a half, weve dealt with a lot of nonsense from local elders stopping by unannounced, well-meaning do-gooders trying to encourage us.
somehow weve managed to get through this without getting dfd/dad.
for me the worst part of it all has been that much of my family has shunned me, and stopped talking to me, as soon as they heard through the grapevine that i wasnt going to meetings.

I emotionally flatlined for the last year I went to meetings so I didn't have much contact with the folks in my old hall. I do find it interesting when I hear from my dad that 'everyone ' misses me; or hear the same from Mrs Kensei; who still goes occasionally. Never a phone call, never a card, or anything. Not that I care, just one more example of their conditional hypocritical so called friendship. Mrs Kensei and I were at the grocery store the other eve and saw a young couple we knew for decades, the hubby was one of my best friends, they looked right through us, total zombies. I laughed and even Mrs Kensei noticed and commented later at home. I told her "let the pre emptive shunning begin. I feel now after about three years of fading that it's time to get on with my life and my relationship with those people is just a small punctuation mark in the 'encyclopdeia galactica ' that is my life.

Final Grand Prix of the season before big changes in 2014
by Simon ini have to say, i don't think the last couple of years have been that good for the spectacle of f1.
there have been quite a few good races and moments but red bull and vettel winning all the time ... well, it get's a bit boring.. tomorrow is the last grand prix of 2013 in brazil before major changes to the cars for 2014. back to turbo engines (but tiny 1.6 litre ones!
) and much more focus on efficiency and energy recovery.

Simon: Senna was amazing and that documentary is terrific. I too hope the changes are good for next season. Vettel is winning too much, and I really feel bad for Mark Webber, a great talent and great ambassador for the sport. I remember when he debuted for Minardi way back lol, in Brazil I believe. Now he is retiring. Oh well. Here's to a great next season.

Life after death OR Consciousness after death?

No one and I mean no one has any definitive information on life/conciousness after death. There is no way to prove first of all that such a state exists. One idea is just as good as another since none can be proven; no so called "experiences" can be repeated; so therefore cannot truly be tested with science. It is simply subjective mumbo jumbo just like that fraud "Long Island Medium". If there is special knowledge out there then it is consistent, provable, credible. End of story.

I wonder...
by braincleaned ini wonder about why so many of us stick to the "truth" within the frame of the jehovah's witness religion.. of course, the wts has authority over our minds thru the control of information, demonizing any "worldly" knowledge that might jeopardize our faith in this entity.. thru my own experience, i understand how we can stick to this organization; because of a life's investment in serving, and the close ties of family and peers we do not wish to abandon or upset.
so we are here on sites like these, to understand the mechanisms of the cult... to try to make sense of why we should stay, or why we should leave.. the consequences are too important to take this lightly, or too swiftly.. if i may share a bit of my journey, i did not have to worry too much about the cult at first, because my main battle was based deeper than that.
after all, the root of any christian religion is in the bible itself; faith in jehovah and christ; trust in the idea that the bible is inspired by god himself.. so yes, my quest went to the base, the root of the jw faith... the bible.. since childhood, the character of jehovah was a problem for me.

Briancleaned: Hello
I have great admiration for somone who is brave enough to "unmask" himself. I also admire your honesty in admitting that you are an agnostic regarding a godlike creator. I too hold that same view. I firmly believe that there are things that humans do not know, nor will we develop the ability to know; and once we attempt to go beyond them then we are in the realm of pure "speculation"; and I have never seen so much speculation than in the literature of the WTBS. I also agree with the idea of Jehovah being the god of tribal Israel; and therefore no different from Baal, Molech, and the rest of the Canaanite gods.
Thank you for broaching this topic. I don't post very often but look forward to this discussion. Have a great day to all.

The Jehovah's Witness religion has gone for good !!!
by snare&racket ini am not sure how you all feel as we all left at different times for different reasons.... but this new bible seems to have put some final nails into a coffin that was once my jw life.
the religion is so far and so different to the religion i grew up in that it has become something i feel no affiliation with anymore, no bond, no shared ideas or even sentimental views.
different teachings on when the end is coming.

Wow snare and a racket. I grew up in this joke religion and did my "time " in the 80's, and I identified with everything you wrote. You described how I felt and what I did like you knew me!! I could'nt agree more.

The Big AGM News is That There Was No News
by cofty init was totally vacuous.
despite the promise of "new light" in the opening talk there was nothing.. a few of the more clumsy phrases in the nwt have been improved, and it has a nice new grey cover - so what?.
i am thinking about the jws who have spent a lifetime waiting on paradise.

Remember, for many this is the first time they have heard so many gb speakers at once. They truly are trying to put themselves in the limelight for all to see, after all, if they are the only fds then they must put themselves out there more and more to separate themselves from all of those wine and cracker drinkers out there who have seemed to want a voice for so long. Remember that quote attributed to ol Teddy Jaracaz: "this religion has to reinvent itself',well it's already begining. Stay tuned for more pronouncements from the "compound" at Warwick. lol

Clinging to the Congregation means life or death! Animal Kingdom Video!
by AuntConnie ini found this video online that demonstrates just how dangerous it is to drift away from the organization and stay away from the weekly kingdom hall gatherings.. .
a mother gray whale and her calf get separated from the pod (jehovahs organization and weekly meetings) and this makes them vulnerable to attack because they dont have loving companions for protection.. .
the mother whale took her baby on a long journey, only to see it die.
