  Do you still attend meetings?

  i'm wondering if you still attend meetings?

  do you hold out hope for the watchtower organization?

  if you've left entirely, have you found another form of worship?

  Last meeting for me and my wife was during vacation somewhere in Asia last fall. Lukely, I didn't understand much...:-))
  We sent a letter to the elders of our home congregation, told them that we need a break from everything. Since then, there was no contact anymore to the local brothers..

  I study many books about evolution, dating methods, history (church history), archeology, bible critic and so on...

  Since then, my mind opened up a lot...and we feel free not to rush three times to meetings a week...

  Serious Question

  as we all know the society has very strict guidelines regarding conduct between the sexes.

  in the cong i grew up in, it was so small-minded that if you were single, and seen talking to a member of the opposite sex, you were presumed to be in some sort of relationship with him/her.. sex before marriage is out of the question, with heavy petting also looked down upon.

  dating is a serious affair, with all onlookers expecting engagement/marriage to be the outcome.

  I didn't write for long time. Just didn't have time.
  The Brothers here in Switzerland are usualy not so strict about dating. Only the members of the italian meeting were very strict. When we visited italian friends as teenager, we were not even alloved to sit next to each other, boy one sofa and girls the other one...:-)

  When I was 18 years old, we got visitors during the district convention staying at our house. I felt in love immediately with the 21 year old sister. Her brother was sleeping in my room. I went to her bed in our guest room as soon as her brother slept in my room. I spent three very exciting nights with her, and we were very tired during the convention...

  Later, I went for some months to California to study English. In order to save money, I was invited to stay together with three sisters in the same appartement. After some weeks, the local elders recommended to change my accomadation, so I moved to a brother.

  Now, I'm married for some years and we have a very nice sexual live since beginning. We do any position, any practice, witch both enjoy.

  As you can see, I never could think black and white in this matter...even when I was a witness...

  as far as I know, most Europeans liked Gore better. Me too.
  Bush is a hardliner, he would match to the governing body....
  But, we'll see, how the next 4 years gonna be...

  Witnet Refugee

  those of you familar with witnesses.net may have seen me around the site, i've been posting there since early last year, and recently i was a moderator for a short time, before its sudden closure.. i was raised in the truth, daughter of a one-time elder and am a third generation jw.

  i have seen a lot of changes in the society, some for the better, many for the worse.. i am now inactive, have not been to a meeting since the memorial earlier this year and not been in active witnessing since january 99.. so i am more out than in, though i have a few family members that are still witnesses, so i try not to put myself in the situation where i could be df'd.

  i appreciate so much of what is being said here, but frankly i just want it done with.

  i don't even care if their doctrines are right or not, their conduct, their conditional love and their hypocrisy is definitely wrong.. i have given up looking for a church that has the answers, there is none.

  there are no perfect churches, doctrines or people.

  Hello people
  just let you know, two weeks ago, I informed the elders with a letter, that my wife an me wanna have a break from all JW activities. We've choosen to have a break and not df, because of our family.
  Since then, we feel free as never before.
  I read a lot of books about church history and bible critics. I not only don't believe in the JW anymore, I'm also loosing the faith into the bible.

  why is it that most r&f witness can take anything the gb dishes out and swallow it whole?.

  my mil takes everything she reads in the wt and calls it "meat in due season".

  i guess this week's wt is about patience.

  My father, as an elder, discussed a long time with me about my doubts. After all, the important question for him was: Do you still believe, that the fdS is guided from Jehovah?
  That was the key question about my future in or outside the organisation.
  He didn't ask: Do you belive in the randsom of Jesus!

  venus williams, the jw tennis star is at the olympics where she won a gold medal.

  she has her picture in the news carrying the american flag.. all i can say is.....huh?
