  jehovah's witnesses are mentioned in this excellent article that begins by reporting on an especially awful mormon child sexual abuse case.

  Regarding Clergy-Penitent Privilege the article says...

  Keeping confessions confidential is a key tenet of many faiths. Historians believe it originated with the seal of confession in Roman Catholic canon law, tracing it back centuries, to the origins of the Christian Church.

  Nobody claims clergy privilege more vigorously than JWs. They also claim to be no part of Christendom or of Babylon the Great. But when it comes to hiding their own sins they quickly embrace a principal that "...originated with the seal of confession in Roman Catholic canon law..."

  The Bible says "Get out of her my people," referring to the 'world empire of false religion,' (Babylon the Great). Clearly Jehovah's Witnesses haven't quite made it out yet.

  Very good!

  It was repetitious, but the more repetitious it got, the funnier it got.

  Now I understand why it never made sense to me that 1 +1 = 1.

  It's because I have an attitude problem!

  Started studying at 16, baptized at 19. (Not born in, but converted.)

  Left at 53.

  As mentioned above I waited too long, even after seeing things that didn't add up. It's no wonder that Watchtower encourages you to 'ignore your doubts.'

  but he very recently did a very recent rebuttal of april 2020 jw broadcasting.

  Find the Beatles Songs in the Picture

  some light entertainment ... there are apparently 39 beatles songs hidden in the picture, but depending on how to interpret some of them you may come up with more.. please post one each, to give everyone a go, and describe where the song is in the picture (so it's not just coming up with a list of beatles songs).

  also, check for existing answers - i'll post summaries to show the ones already identified.. .

  How do you think this covid-19/corona virus pandemic will affect the way J.W.'s view shunning?

  we all know that the watchtower (jehovah's witnesses) say the reason for disfellowshipping is to protect the congregation from some uncleanness or threat.so they "quarantine" (shun) those they perceive can spread information that does not agree fully with their teachings/doctrines.it's almost like they want to liken it to a real disease by calling opposers "mentally diseased", "threat" etc.

  will the current state of affairs in the world regarding this pandemic strengthen their cause/argument in favor of isolating within their ranks?

  i can visualize them in the near future even having parts at the hall or assemblies pointing back to this pandemic and saying something along the lines of "brothers what do you think would happen if we would not have quarantined and stayed away from any that were infected?

  I'm not sure why on this site some of my post get treated as links and put in blue text...

  When you end a sentence with a period put a space after it before starting the next sentence. In this case you wrote 'threat dot so' and 'doctrines dot it' with no space after the dot, so they became web links, even if they lead nowhere.

  Covid-19 (Coronavirus) - Status Update Thread

  this topic is to focus on status updates & advice (no opinion or politics please).. status.

  latest status is that it's serious, probably isn't going to be contained and most large companies are making contingency plans, cancelling large events etc... which i don't think would happen if it was just people being alarmist.

  the incubation period means it may have already spread further and infected many more people than are currently known, so expect jumps in the numbers over the coming days and weeks.. tracking.

  You said "Vitamin C with Riboflavinoids..."

  Did you by chance mean 'with Bioflavonoids'? When I google it bioflavonoids keeps coming up.

  If it's really ribolavinoids can you give a brand name?
