Naw, I think most men will admit to being a boy at heart. Mind you, I'm bad enough on House of the Dead whenever I go to my local Bowlplex!

Zombie computer games
by watersprout inso carrot has borrowed some games for his wii from a bloke at work, and one of the games is called ''dead rising''.
from what i can see you have to kill all the zombies in a shopping centre.... well carrot has got hold of a chainsaw and is slaughtering all the zombies... he is laughing uncontrollably and keeps saying that it's the best game ever!.
is it me or is this something men should have grown out of when they left puberty??.

I get them too, though thankfully with much less frequency since taking SSRI's. I'm allergic to ibuprofen/advil so I usually end up taking Paracetamol, Codeine (usually combined with the Codeine in varying strengths as either Co-Codamol, Co-Dydramol or Solpadol) and I use Diclofenac Sodium in place of ibuprofen. I can't take Sumatriptan/Imitrex as I'm on SSRI's.
In the UK we have this stuff called 4Head which is levomenthol in a stick - drug free and surprisingly effective - which you rub on your temples. I find the cooling sensation helps take the edge off it.
It's interesting that like IsaacJ22 & talesin I also suffer from insomnia, sinusitis, PTSD and fibromyalgia.
Whatever you do, don't combine Sumatriptan/Imitrex with SSRI's. A friend of mine was taking Citalopram and used to use his girlfriend's prescribed Sumatriptan if he got a bad headache. He'd then be sick and agitated for several days afterwards. He was lucky he was on a low dose of Citalopram and is a large guy as Serotonin Syndrome can be fatal!

The whole thing normally only takes about 15 minutes.
I wish ours had! They never seemed to want to leave ours, it would normally take 2 hours (I blame my Mother's double choc chip muffins). I used to get really embarassed when they prayed for us at the end of the visit and wondered if they really cared or were they just going through the motions themselves..?

I'm not sorry I chose NOT to be an intolerant bigot.
I'm not sorry if my free thinking offends you.
I don't care if you think me a bad association. You've done me a favour.
I am sorry that you find nothing better to do than invent hurtful, idle, gossip about the very people you're supposed to love. It must get quite boring twiddling your thumbs waiting for something that's never going to happen.
BUT, If you ever see the real truth, I'm here for you...

What do you think about beauty pageants for kids?
by journey-on inwhile channel surfing the other day, i caught something on tlc called toddlers and tiaras.
i watched it!
i was appalled, but at the same time the whole social implication of such a thing fascinated me.

NO, NO, NO, and NO!!!!!
Beauty pageants for kids = parade for paedophiles.

And don't even get me started on the whole self-esteem, body image, competetiveness issues....

The J Dub Culture of Skirt-Wearing
by mummatron inthis is something that has always bothered me.
as a born-in jw i was raised as a little girl wearing skirts and dresses which is clearly quite normal in terms of gender-appropriate clothing.
however, the older i grew, the more i realised that all jw women and girls wore skirts to meetings and when out in fs, but would wear trousers in their everyday life.

I'm sure you did look younger and sexier. Just without the Christmas negligée and gown.

LOL Rebel8! The lemonade was supplied after the bookstudy had finished.
I have mentioned this story before--I was once taken to the back room by the elders for having a skirt that showed my kneecaps--a straight skirt, no less. It was very modest and businesslike. Also I was wearing black hose with it, and a bro complained b/c I "looked like a prostitute".
And he knew what a prostitute looked like because....?

I've worked since I left school at 18. I went to University and continued to work (on average 25 hours a week) retail jobs to support myself. When I graduated with a degree in I.T. I landed a job as the daytime tech support supervisor for a company providing managed hosting services to manufacturing clients. I did that for almost 4 years. I later got a job as the Support Manager for a firm that provided similar services and various communications solutions but on a larger scale. I liked the problem solving aspect of the job but hated being mostly office-bound. It wasn't very fulfilling. I had a baby, went back to work and realised I hated it, so I handed in my notice and started a post-grad course to become a teacher. I completed the 1st module. Did some temping in schools working with kids with special educational needs (autism mainly), had another baby and am now waiting to go back to Uni to finish module 2 and graduate again so I can start teaching unsupervised and get my QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) a year later.
