Andi, I'm thrilled for you. I hope the good conversations with your father continue. I also think it's grand that you have an Uncle Dad.
keeping my fingers crossed for you... (and keep us posted eh?)

as most of you know, neil and i have been engaged for about two weeks now.
i was surprised and thrilled to hear him ask and am looking forward to spending my life with my best friend.
for those of you who don't know neil personally, he's really the best thing to ever happen to me!

well, you all seem to have moms in the "truth"..... my mom isn't, never was and was unhappy i became one.
but then she came around to accept it and not have a bad view of jws.. now i am df'd and she was madder than a hornet.
even called one of the elders and gave him a piece of her mind.
When I was a good lil dub, my Mom accepted the troof, got baptized. What that did however, was encourage her to go 'back'to my abusive father. Yep, she married him a second time. He continued to beat her and the elders councelled her to keep trying.
However, she called me frantically one day, and my hubby and I went and helped her leave him for good this time. When she saw what the elders put me through, she walked away from the troof and is now happily busy in her town church.
For my girls' first xmas, she threw a HUGE one for them. She also has nothing to say to any JWs now.
I'm really glad the borg didn't manage to separate you and your Mom, Sally.
And a belated Happy Birthday to your little girl!

sf - I hope you weren't thinking that that is what 'I' said. I was quoting the original message in the thread and then remarking how truly frightening that remark is.

does anyone get mail here that you do not recognize, and so you delete it when it, may be someone from the board here responding to your post?.
lipstik01 mailed me but when i started to open it i got a warning that opening this could cause computor problems.. has there ever been a virus sender from this board?
( i'm not implying you are "lipstik"... whoever you are)
I've received worms and trojan viruses from someone on the board. I'm certain it wasn't on purpose. I had to close system restore and then run my virus checker. Rebooted, turned system restore back on, and I've no probs since. It was obviously rooted there and every time I started up, it multiplied. My peuter has been clean for several days now.

>Everything that goes on before then DOESN'T MATTER, as far as things that happen around you, as long as you yourself do all you can to live in accordance with the bible.<
I hope this 'person' doesn't have children. If they were to be abused, as he/she said above - it doesn't matter.
This is truly frightening.

"practice random acts of kindness & senseless beauty".
well, i really hate to do this, because i've found some nice people here.
I keep hoping that you will pop back up around here TRC. I'm gonna miss you. I hope that you find real happiness. Keep an open mind and stay away from smoke screens and illusions. We'll always be here when you need us.

Hilda, you don't need Simon to deactivate your account - just leave.
If you are serious about wanting him to deactivate your account - post a thread to him saying so.
this morning i told my wife about my decision to step down as a ms and that i also would'nt be attending any meetings.
she made a few comments that i expected her to make, but strangely enough she was for the most part very silent.
she made it clear that she was against the decision but outside of a few other comments she said very little.
Leander - congrats hon! I'm really happy that your wife didn't blow over it. Please take note of Patio34s suggestion though.
Regardless of how the people at the hall react, I hope your home life remains peaceful and accepting.
hugs,
Mimilly
i've been a member of this board since summer of last year.
i'm also a member of several jw groups on yahoo.
i love posting stories on the pedophilia scandal or the un stuff just to see what everyone else says.
Hilda - MPD is now called Dissociative Identity Disorder - D.I.D.
If this is what you suffer from, then yes, get help from a professional who deals with this disorder.
i have read lots of accounts here about married couples who have left the jws over the last few years.. theres also quite a number of men who are leaving who are concerned that their wives may want to remain as active jws.. why is that, i wonder?
why do the males always seem to make the move to escape the clutches of the wtbts, whilst the wife is usually desperate to maintain the status quo?
we dont seem to hear about women who want to leave whilst their husbands want to stay, it always seems to be the other way around.. most peculiar.
Englishman -
I left the borg and hubby stayed.
