  Gee - calling out to Jehovah didn't work for me. Hmmm.

  The story definitely sounds like an urban myth. Telling kids to use such crap as a way of dealing with abuse, is:

  A. dangerous. And after being abused anyway, they'll wonder why God didn't step in and stop it. They'll think they deserved it.
  B. most abusers are not strangers (as another poster mentioned) So the victims will be on the lookout for strangers, instead of monsters with the faces of family and family friends.

  Ever notice how the WT mags NEVER talk about safe touch, or to run to the authorities when someone purposely gives you that creepy feeling? They say 'turn to Jehovah - tell your parents- pray' They don't give JW kids any ideas of what to do if the abuse is coming FROM their parents.

  I have to vomit after considering how the WTS 'protects' children.

  a young woman went to her mother and told her about her life and how things were so hard for her.

  she did not know how she was going to make it and wanted to give up.

  MM... honey, you are NOT whining or on the pity pot (a sympathy sneeze I call it). You are venting. Do not minimize your pain by saying that things could be worse. (since murphy's law is my zodiac sign, personally, I'm terrified of saying that things could be worse). But honey, you ARE one very strong lady. There was a time in my life when if it wasn't for my two treasures, I would've given in. You have the fighting spirit. You get knocked down, stay down for a bit, and then get right back up. THAT is going to get you through anything. I'm so happy that you have your treasure, Emily.

  Vent away sweetheart. You have every right to, and as I found out in the immediate past, the wonderful people on this board will never let you be alone. Include me in that list.

  While your sh$t list IS long - the positive things you list will hold more power.

  Aftermath re: Pieces of me

  i was really touched by those who responded to my story.

  since posting it however, i have not felt like the strong person those who replied made me out to be.. between posting my story, wanting to post my story at silentlambs, and the pure bullshit the wts is spewing and causing those honest souls who risk and are feeling the wrath of the gestapo to protect victims, i haven't slept; my nerves are on a raw edge; my migraines won't go; i'm on the verge of tears out of the blue; i'm afraid of nightfall; i'm afraid of noises, of phonecalls, of mail.

  i'd kick the crap outa my heavy bag if i had the energy.

  Blue... thank you ever so much for your words. Wow. When one can't see the forrest for the trees, it sure helps to have all of you around to show me where the sunbeams are.
  I get mad at having to be strong all the time. There are times I want 'out'. (just like MarchOn said) I know that 'this too shall pass' (one of my fave sayings), but I've learned enough that when I fall into the dark places, I have to reach out, and I'm thankful to have all of you here. This site is quite the gift. :)

  yeah.

  so i told my mother i have been dating stephanie or close to year.... she flipped.

  i know that she wouldn't agree with it but now she won't call me at all or anything.. she made me feel so guilty and dirty but i shouldn't.... whatever.. i am confused.. love ya bunches,.

  Katie, love, you gotta be true to your own heart. As much as we all want to please our parents... it cannot always be done. In fact, I think it's rare. My mom disses me alot. And yes, it hurts.

  Keep reaching out and remember the hugs we're all sending your way. One day, this too shall pass, and you'll be alot stronger. For the time being, it's gonna hurt. I wish I could carry it for you.

  WooHoo - I got the job, time to leave the borg

  my current job is due to be phased out within the next few weeks and i had been reluctant to make my announcement until i secured a new position.

  i figured just in case my wife went beserk and left i would'nt want to be stuck looking for a job and carrying all the bills.. anyway i went on an interview yesterday within the company and this morning i got the call that if i wanted the job it was mine, so naturally i accepted without hesitation.

  so now my next step is to get a second car within the next few days, that way i won't be stuck at the house when my wife is at the meetings or field service.

  the one elder called while the other sat on the phone as a "witness".

  the second elder was once a close friend.

  Is Anything Worth Dying For?

  i often hear people here talk about the horrible jw willingness to die for blood transfusions.

  maybe jws are mistaken when it comes to the bt issue; maybe not.

  however i wonder if there is anything that is really worth dying for in this life.. for me, to live is christ and to die is gain.
