You know I taught my children about this imaginary person called "stranger danger" like millions of kids are taught in USA schools, or McGruff The Crime Dog, and I don't think kids go around feeling hurt because the were never kidnapped by the imaginary "stranger danger" person parents painted for them, or to realize that McGruff can't not talk or do all the fun and silly things McGruff does to convey a teaching to children ... I am not defending any practice but some christians cults and other religions have a "vested" interest in the opinions they formulate and inculcate to their followers, they have their own agenda, in my case I learned from medical professional how cults in our case the Watchtower prey with the "emotions" of their followers, they make you have tunnel vision, you are allowed to see only through one window, the only valid opinion is THEIRS because it comes from "god" - so one does have the skills to think for oneself, to make connections like okay, how come Santa hurt kids when they realize he is not real and how come McGruff Dog or Stranger Danger Don't ... so something in your thinking had to be tainted first to be so one way street, something in you had to be tainted to be so hypocritical, so bias, to make the difference between one and the other when the concept is the same - trying to convey a teaching with imaginery.

The 2 Witness Rule Protects Another JW Pedo Again
by Hairyhegoat inthis is a very disturbing account from a jw girl who posted this on another site.
please don't read if you will be affected by the comments... i'm 23 years of age and i was raised as a jehovah's witness.
thanks to my cousin for introducing me to "apostate" videos online, and a few other major reasons that i will get to soon, i've disassociated myself for a little over a year now.

Awful ...
But you know it is hard to understand for us that she still loves her dad ... when I was dealing with the forgiveness part while helping my niece (sexually abused by 3 JWs) ... the counselor told us that forgiveness helps the victim a lot, this was for my niece to forgive her mom for not "protecting" her ... so there is little we can do for this precious girl now but we can think positive things for her, send her good vibes if that is what you believe, precious humans like her need all our bright, positive energy release their ways. I do pray for people and I she will be in my list now.
Just a few weeks ago, my niece's mom was mentioning that the "elders" in El Salvador need proof b/c of the two witness rule ... like if a pedophile will do things in public ... what a satanic way of thinking ... I can't wait to see the Watchtower Corporation crumbling down AND IT WILL HAPPEN --- the time is coming for that
Mark 4:22: For everything that is hidden will eventually be brought into the open, and every secret will be brought to light.

You know ... when kids grow up they laugh while telling the story of how they discovered Santa was not real ... I think you have to be genetically predisposed (like in loco) to make it such a HUGE issue like Watchtower wants you to believe ... my children now 14 and 13 laugh at each other for believing that Santa was real ... yet it is part of their most precious memories, they realized our love for them because I went to extremes to keep the fantasy for them (just like tooth fairy) ... their eyes and my eyes glisten with joy and love when we go through memory lane ... they will have that loving memory for their rest of their lives. Now that they are teenagers the emphasis of Christmas is that we celebrate the "BIRTH" of Jesus ... who knows the exact"date" Jesus was born, we as Christians, celebrate the fact that our King was born. We don't care what other people or even other Christians do and believe, as for me and my house we celebrate the fact that Jesus was born!
Dear Lord, when you see all the dangers children face in this world, the question should be, Is it moral and/or rational to bring children into this world?

"We don't need holidays as an excuse to give gifts to our children." I always hated the word "excuse" in this sentence. I am YET to meet a loving parent, loving children, a loving friend that uses a holiday or any other event as an "excuse" to give a present. They use the holidays as "special occassions" to stop for a minute and think of you specially and show not only with words but actions their feelings towards you.
The word "excuse" in this sentence is part of the Watchtower lexicon to brainwash people.

New career at 30 - suggestions/ideas?
by i_drank_the_wine ini'm in need of a career change, or at the very least a new job that i can make money at while i continue to work on computer related side-projects.
i'm burnt as hell at computer programming, and being that i am self-taught and have very little corporate experience i am not looking into doing this anymore as it's all i've done as a career for the last 10 years.. long story short, bad money crunch, no degree of any sort, a gamble to try and make my own business failed - so i need to find a new career or job.
searching the papers is somewhat dis-heartening so far.. any ideas, suggestions, or advice for this daunting task of trying to find some way to keep from going bankrupt with a new job.

Are you in the USA or in Europe? I live in the USA.
A few years ago I found myself short of money b/c my exhusband stop paying child support ... I found a weekend/partime job as a Non-Medical Caregiver ... there are different levels of non-medical care that you need to provide and feel comfortable with. In my case my job was companionship for elderly couple night time shift ... I worked fri, sat, sun nights, first every weekend, then every other weekend, then only as needed, now I quit b/c I don't need the extra income anymore as thanks God I am fine now.
Anyway I was in a similar situation, goggled ways to make money fast and Caregiver came up as an option. I found a job right away.
Mine was not a career change, just something like a bridge to help me make it through and prevent rough waters from rising out of control ...

Dear Lord! Do they say "emotional imbalance" with regards to "mistakenly partaking? LOL!!!!
I can imagine people asking themselves (after lovingly being readjusted to the earthly flock) -- Am I crazy? Demon possessed?
I remember once being "lovingly" readjusted during sheparding call to think that it was Satan answering my prayers not their Jehovah God and trust me it can create issues for one, you start selfdoubting yourself, your sanity, your faith, etc. What an added and unnecessary burden!!!!

Some pretty blatant stuff coming up in bookstudy
by agent zero inso i was reading ahead in the bookstudy book "bearing thorough witness" about god's kingdom, and i came upon some shockingly direct damage control on behalf of the gb in the material for the upcoming weeks.. on page 104: what a privilege it is to be instructed and molded by our patient and kind heavenly father!
the results are always good and always to our advantage.
so let us never proudly push ahead with our own ideas or react negatively to organizational changes or to adjusted explanations of certain scriptures.

Their quote "...the scene of this world is always changing"
35Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.
The Watchtower keeps adding, substracting (I mean "readjusting") to the word of Jesus and the Scriptures
God, is the Great I AM, not the I WAS, or I WILL BE ...
Not at all! Let God be true, and every man a liar. As it is written: "So that you may be proved right when you speak and prevail when you judge."
The Watchtower version of this verse is "Let the Watchtower Corporation be true, and God a liar ...

I just receive my medical records from the hospital I gave birth to my babies ... I found the No Blood release form I signed for my first baby in 1997 --- I read it and I thought to myself "how stupid I was" to this day I know NOTHING about blood transfusions and here I was making an "INFORMED" decision ... yeah right !!! I didn't even think of my baby girl, I was going to leave her orphan if something happened ... the Gift, the Blessing, the blessed fruit of the Womb that God gave me ... where was all that talk about children being a blessing from the Lord there ...
So yes, I subscribed to the "doctrine" but I didn't, still don't now anything about it ...
I didn't know that Jesus, according to the Watchtower doctrine, was not my mediator either ... and many more stuff

Is homosexuality ever justifiable? I say YES!!!
by TimothyT inin the january 2012 awake, pages 28-29 there is another article about homosexuality.. .
the writers argue that genetics, the environment, and sexual abuse do not justify homosexuality.
the bible clearly states that homosexuality is wrong and is an abhorrent sin.

Hi Timothy!
You need us :) ... some of us need you ...:) ... others (lurkers) whose life may be saved by your experience need you ... :) PLEASE DO NOT PAY ATTENTION TO NEGATIVE COMMENTS ...
When you know better you do better and that's what you are doing ... you have heard me talking about my niece that was sexually abused by 3 different JWs for a period of 7 +/- years. Well, she almost committed suicide many times (even when she was in the psychiatric hospital)... but by the Grace and Mercy of God she is still alive, one of the things she struggles with is that since everything started when she was 5 years old, and the perpetrator then was a woman, she thought that sexual relations were between people of the same sex and thus she can be with women, she is bisexual now and struggles to break free from same sex relationships ... unfortunately my niece cannot tell every single human being, specially JWs, her story and why she has done the things she did, or why she is like she is ... even the doctors told me how the brain makes connection, gets wired certain way and how hard it is to break free when it is SO ingrained in her being ... my niece has suffered ENOUGH in this life - the woman JW pioneer that sexually abused her even used animals, ice picks to do things to her to instill fear and perverse stuff on her ... I am very protective of her ... so f*&CK every one else that dares to judge her ... and if I have to die with her at the hands of a supposed "god" that HATES and plans to DESTROY people like her, like my other friend says, WE WILL GLADLY DIE. The Heavenly Father knows the heart and minds of people ...HE is the final judge so until WE AS INDIVIDUALS ARE IN FRONT OF HIS THRONE FOR JUDGMENT everybody should shut the fuck up ... and I get very mad and passionate about his subject ...
