Do you happen to remember the name of the first high profile Bethelite to get disfellowshipped. Pretty sure there was even a law suit about it. He's a familiar name, just can't remember it.

When did JWS start disfellowshipping and why?
by lettersfromthevoid ini know this question has been discussed, but i can't find the topic i was just looking at, so.... one thing about this is that the other posters here didn't mention, that i noticed anyway, that there was this member of the gb in the 40s and early 50s (but possibly during rutherford) who was at odds with rutherford or knorr, and they wanted to do away with them, so they accused (falsely) that person, then they declared that the punishment for that sin was something they invented, or at least once iteration of, what we know as the modern disfellowshipping practice among jws.. so, that is why they invented that doctrine; they.

How much in total do you think the W.T.S has payed out in child abuse cases??
by karter inthey have settled a lot out of court with gagging orders both ways so we will never know how much was payed out there.but some have been made public.
any ideas how much in total?.

There was a case in Texas where there was a gag order put on the child and one in Florida. An overachiever could make a website with all this info.

My ex-bethelite buddy found TTATT through his prostitute friend.
by silentbuddha inso yesterday evening i get an invite through facebook fro a name that was familiar, but i couldn’t place the face.
after clicking on the page i saw a close-up pic to realize it was a friend of mine from 15 years ago at bethel.. when this guy arrived at bethel he was big time.
he was in early 20’s and had given up a job as an engineer at what was one of the largest electronics companies in the world.

there are no Jehovah's Witnesses left that will answer this kind of question. 99% of jws have no clue about this and the rest will refuse to answer until they qualify you as meek enough to deserve the answer. But at the point where you qualify, at your baptism, the answer to the question will be, "The governing body has through holy spirit determined that it be this way, so, what, are you having doubts that this is gods organization? Who else are you going to turn to?"

No one in the US bethel knows any of this took place. I dont think more than a handfull of witnesses in Austrailia know either, not even in the congregation these guys go to. This is causing no stir whatsoever in the jw org. Maybe over the next 30 or 40 years a trickle might get through to some educated fringe jws, but this has made no splash whatsoever among the ignorant faithful. -
