  Cutting the final ties

  i've been doing a lot of reading these past couple of days, including someone's life experience that he wrote about and that was linked to on this board.

  anyway, after reading that, the last vestiges of my "programming" have fallen away.

  I finally let her have it...

  my sister made me incredibly angry yesterday.

  i sent her a politely worded message asking for her why she had waited 4 days to give an important message to my gran (who doesn't have email, and i don't have a phone line for long-distance).. among other things, this is what i got back:.

  "i am tired of you treating me this way.

  Fanaticism

  the common leader and his followers work mainly off of the desire to end isolation but the fanatical leader and his disciples incorporate the second primal fear, the fear of death, into the equation.

  and by death i mean annihilation the utter obliteration of any and every bit of a persons earthly existence and legacy.

  the leader who promises his people that adherence to his laws and teachings will not only relieve the pain of their isolation but also allow them to defy death, to achieve some kind of spiritual immortality through worthy deeds, that type of leader achieves a supreme control that the first type cant match and creates an entirely different kind of follower in the process.

  has the society ever come up with any intelligent reasoning to counter the ages that carbon dating/science has given to various artifacts, i.e.

  i don't know if this is true where you live, but where i used to live, it was against "policy" for brothers to have beards.

  any man who did have one was looked down upon.
