Even those who leave the WT and see behind the curtain and the immense fraud and arrogance of the "organization" often retain, desperately in fact, the need to be "right" to "have all the answers". To correct other's thinking. Its a fear of uncertainty perhaps. The need for an anchor.

Which is fine, again, if the site were at exjwatheists.net, but since this is supposed to be a place to welcome people who are doubting or leaving the religion and are likely to still believe in God, it's rather self-centered and lacking in compassion to insist that they immediately catch up to where you got to, several years after leaving the religion.
I don't know where I will end up but I do know it is supposed to be a process.
There have been times around here that I have felt on the dumb side just for wanting to ask questions.
I do understand why some don't want to go back to square one every time a "newbie" comes along.
What I don't understand is the air of superiority.

so today's study is all about being kindly, and not judgemental to those in the congregation....we don't know their circumstances etc.... i can't believe the hypocrisy being spewed out...both in the article and by means of the answers from the audience!.
we know the reality is so different!
unless a witness does everything exactly as the gb directs...in every aspects of life, they are effectively no longer a good person, but are viewed as spiritually lacking or weak..... they are going directly beyond the biblical directives, and being ones who condemn, rather than ones who commend!.

there seems to be an endless number of ways to show the bible is not devinely inspired but all of it seems so complicated.

I dont know when they start counting their time but I was shocked to learn that each JW has to assume the public liability for wherever they set up.
For instance, if they locate in a Farmers Market, they have to contact the manager of the market and fill out the form in THEIR name, not the local congregations or JW.Orgs.
So if you are a publisher, you go get the cart. You go to the location. If there is a fee or paperwork YOU pay it out of your own pocket.
The Society gets all the credit (if there is any) and the pubs provide all the work and money.
even the mennonites won't be left behind in having an out of date and hard to use website!

i was raised as a jehovahs witness.
currently i still am part of a congregation, which i gather is also the case for many who come here.
i no longer consider them god's chosen people.
