did anyone ever catch a jw kid doing something he shouldnt ?

i was walking down my street one day while being a"study " and heard some kids on bikes coming up behind me using every swear word there is aiming it at eachother , but not in anger , i turned round and was really shocked to see it wasthe two sons of an elder who lived near me ,and one of these boys was considered a "fine example " to other young ones .

because i felt "trapped " by the jws (my kids would die if i didnt stay with them !

) i moaned to my pioneer friend about not seeing the point of being a jw if the kids are just the same as "worldly" kids who they are not supposed to mix with and look down on.

I caught twice an elder's son smoking, and he was never sanctioned, like elder kids are protected.

To what degree due you think "Internet killed the "Jehovah's Witness" radio star."

i remember getting my first crapy computer for $200 bucks and clicking on the internet for the first time....i said to myself: "i may just look up my jehovah's witness brothers on here.....free minds watching the watchtower hmmm .

so the nails in my faith coffin began to be hammered in rip.

so how big an influence was the net in your leaving?.

For me it was really the Internet, I tried to reason with my dub wife at the time, but she stayed in and eventially I was DF! That was in the early 2000's, now I heard recently that my ex isn't a dub anymore...? I will try to find out from my son as she has full custody.

I saw some jws in the ministry today

i was leaving for lunch break from an acting workshop i took today.

about three blocks down i saw a jw sister standing by her van.

at first at thought maybe she's not a jw.

Saw two brothers last weekend, in my neigbourhood. They acted as they did not see me... as I am DF. How nice to sleep in on weekends!

Ex jw wife

i find it interesting that i posted about 16 days ago concerning whether i should write a letter and.

allow my ex wife to be free and marry.. saturday night she called out of the blue ( maybe there is a god upthere looking down) after 3 years of not talking to her and she wants to meets.. we met last night and after small talk about how we are both doing and family stuff, she asked me if i would write a letter.

freeing her or releasing her from our marriage without admitting adultery, since i don't believe in the bible anymore,.

Sounds like mine, except mine lied to the elders and told them that I cheated on her, so she was free to divorce, I was the bad one and got DF'ed, she just wanted to get rid of me and be free.

As A JW Did You Care About Old JW History, Old Light & Flip Flops?

i used to look at the old stuff as info that the witnesses were progressively understanding.

i didn't hold it against the witnesses if they changed understandings because after all the 'light was getting brighter and brighter".. as time went on, it did start effecting me.

there were too many things i'd let slide by when i was younger that i just couldn't ignore any longer.

It used to bug me alot as since it was an organization from god, how come god always changes its mind since jehovah is perfect, so to be perfect why change things????

Young JW sisters in a hurry

did you notice any young jw sisters in the past that did rush to get married too young and to have a baby right away before the end comes?

did you hear any stories of regret?

i was wondering if the watchtower is to blame for?.

The ones I used to know, most of them are out and the other half the brother left the organization.

Neighbors Are Newly Re-activated JW's

i'm wondering what the stats are on re-activated jw's staying in or leaving the second time around.

i left twice for a couple of months the first time and a year the second time, but finally left for good the third time.. i just found out that my neighbors are jw's but have been out for a while.

the jw's in our area just came by and re-activated them.

Same for me after being there for almost 10 years off 4 back 3, then out again, you can not fit in anymore, first of all because you know its not the truth and second the way you are treated. Even re-intergrated in the congragation they will always see you in some bad way.

How many of you Ex Jehovah's Witnesses married early and it was a disaster?

what a common tale.

you marry early becasue you can't have sex.. i was married at 19 and divorced at 50. the only thing that held it together was our involvement in the jw's.

otherwise it would have been over in less than 5 years.. my kids are not witnesses and have a terrible relationship with their mother, as she is always trying to shove it down their throats.. this is still happening.

Same here, married for the same reasons, now divorced and happy with a great woman that changed my life. Ex wife still a witness.

Stupid Idiots at the meeting

i was at the sunday meeting today (i know, i know...) and i heard this one guy give a comment about how hollywood movies always portray rich people as happy and successful, so that's proof that satan controls the film industry because it's a lie.. .

i struggled to think of one recent hollywood film that portrayed anyone as being happy, let alone rich and happy.

if they made a movie like this guy was describing, it wouldn't sell.

I heard once at the hall a brother saying if you buy a house your materialistic and will die at armaggedon, what kind of answer is that? I am happy not to hear comments anymore that have the IQ of a doorknob...
