  a bbc correspondent documentary aired on june 23, 2002, exposed how the iraqi regime staged these processions: instead of burying dead children immediately in accordance with muslim custom, iraqi authorities hold the bodies in cold storage until enough bodies are available to conduct a "parade of dead babies.

  "15 in one such event, the iraqi regime exhibited some 60 coffins, decorated with large photographs of the deceased, around martyr square in baghdad while government-controlled demonstrators chanted anti-u.s. slogans and demanded the elimination of un sanctions, all for the benefit of foreign reporters who were present.

  on camera, an iraqi identified as ali, described as a former member of saddam's inner circle living in northern iraq, related the account of a taxi driver who had explained to him how it worked: "he went to najaf [a town 100 miles south of baghdad] a couple of days ago.

  My question is why some clearly defend his "right" to remain in power after 11 years of failed diplomacy, UN violations, and a growing threat to global security.

  That's what you said, you dumbass, now show me a link where people defended him being in power, we all think he's evil, however, our president is a dictator, doesn't care what the US public thinks, so clearly he's not a "patriot", in fact, what was said was quit treasonus, so go defend your little dictator why don't you.

  regardless of how complicated everyone wants to make the iraq situation, there is one point that continuously seems to be ignored or overlooked in all the debating going on....that is the fact that bush has said he will go with or without the un's support.

  he has also said we're going with or without the citizen's of america's support.. wmd - you can say these words over & over again, but it remains painstakingly clear that saddam has never used these weapons against the united states - nor could he at this point.

  in fact, he has only used them "defensively".he'd be lucky to get them over to isreal (look at the gulf war - how many scud's actually hit?).

  One other point. Congress has already authorized us of force. The American people have spoken.

  That's nice, had they not, we would still be going to war, a member of bushes team was quoted last night on CNN, he's a dictator, now go away you communist.

  i cant say that im a fan of affirmative action but bushs comments and actions against the u of m kind of burns me.

  again, while i dont believe in affirmative action, i have to admit that it does help the "little guy.

  " where i work there is another engineer who got a free ride through college because he received a hispanic scholarship while i spent 10 years paying back my student loans.

  If you re-read my post I never said anything about people here supporting Saddaam as if there is some sort of active contribution to his bloody regime. My question is why some clearly defend his "right" to remain in power after 11 years of failed diplomacy, UN violations, and a growing threat to global security.

  Show me a link to anyone that defended Saddam on here! Oh ya, you can't because your a dumbass, one of your dumbass pres. bushes staff was quoted as saying that if 0% of the US People supported a war with Iraq, he would still go to war with them. You can take your dictator and shove it wear the sun don't shine!

  A question for those in the UK...

  tonight i watched the movie about a boy with hugh grant.

  there was a scene where he was having christmas dinner with a bunch of friends and they were sitting around the table wearing paper crowns.

  my kids get a paper crown at school on their birthday but i suspect around first grade they won't be doing that anymore.

  Here's a clue by 4, for some of you war mongers, we live in a Republic, and representitive government, something that was said tonight on CNN, really bothered me, one of Bush's staff was quoted as saying that even if the american public was 0% behind the war, Bush would still send us to war with iraq. You people can take your little dictator to be, but that isn't representing the people of our country, in fact if that were the case, I would say he should be brought up on treason charges. Who's patriotic now?

  Let these protestors go to Iraq and protest there. Let them protest Saddam's weapon's program. His disregard for the environment, his human rights violations, his wars of aggression and land grab (attempted), let them protest Saddam's record on civil rights, torture, his use of chemical weapons on his own people. THEN come talk to me. Otherwise, CAN IT.

  Ahh, are you aproving of a dictatorship type mantality? You want us to shut up, dictators do the same thing, poor baby, can't take the heat. Man with the brain power of a chipmunk, none of this has been done to US citizens.

  just watched the interview with the 70 year old mr crow who is paralysed from the neck down and will soon loose his voice.

  today he is flying from england to switzerland to die....very moving.

  If someone wants to end their life, do it on their own. The problem is, in places where Euthanasia has been legalized, there was a marked increase in INVOLUNTARY Euthanasia. Not to mention that Insurance companies will begin to actually ENCOURAGE this because it will be cheaper for them to pay the death benefit than the cost of care for many diseases. Euthanasia is a BAD IDEA as public policy.

  Oh and pray tell, how would this guy have ended it on his own, when he was paralysed from the neck down?

  just signed on to aol broadband, but finding it a bit of a pig to work with....maybe i'm doing something wrong.

  ok you can sign on in a matter of seconds, and web pages load real quick, but since joining, morpheous doesn't seem to work, and media player is very jumpy....can anyone help me get the most out of this thing i've just agreed to pay 27.99 a month for....cheers.

  If they're broadband is anything like they're dialup, then you got an extra step, going through they're proxy servers, might be why morphius doesn't work. I'm assuming it's DSL broadband? There are alot better services for DSL then AOL.

  Should Religion Be Exempt From Ethical Standards?

  i want to raise this serious question: should religion be exempt from normal societal ethical standards?.

  i'm raising this question for several reasons.

  there is a recent thread where people are arguing about whether religious confessions should be privileged communications.

  The same can be said for the clergy penitent privelege. The relationship is supposed to be based on trust. Within the Catholic Church at least, what is SUPPOSED to happen is that absolution is supposed to be witheld until the perp turns themself in. All that will happen if this law does pass is that people will no longer confide in clergy, thus it's the slow dissolution of religion. Sorry, I can't advocate that.

  BS, who's trust, the guy that commited the crime, why is his trust, more important for the rest of civiled world to trust the religion? Oh big deal, dissolution of religion. Sorry you can't advocate the protection of children, over a criminal, and you call me a liberal, lol, your more liberal than any real liberal I've ever met. You can take your compiled sumarian and babylonian myths, ie the bible, and cram it. "Your god is dead, and no one cares."
