A DAMM FINE IDEA
by josephus ini was just re-reading coc by ray franz, and had an idea.
as a jw i was allways concerned when the number of annointed went up in the yearly report, so this year why dont we all find halls that dont know us (if we are shy) and partake.. thousands of "new annointed" would put the shits up the society!, and the brothers!
please tell me what you think as im quite excited anout this idea.. .

Long prayers at the hall
by JH inin every congregation there is always a brother who gives a marathon prayer.
in my congregation there was a brother whose prayers were so long that i decided to time his prayer with my watch.
it lasted about 3-4 minutes.

Yes I HATED saying the prayer because I couldnt think of anything to say! I used to spend the ten minutes before working out what to say then dismissing it because I said it last time. Also, in the book study, the elder would have us bros take it in turns to do the prayer but because he was so senile he`d always forget whos turn it was and end up asking me. It`d go "Whos turn is it to open/close?".. long silence but everyone eligible would stare at me...... "Bro xxxxxx, would you open/close in prayer please?"... "Damn" (or a similar expression) Id think to myself followed by about a minute of incoherent babble ended with "AMEN!". Best prayer I ever gave was before a meal at a sisters house. The other bros conveniently arrived late (I wonder why?). Anyway, the prayer went "Rub a dub dub thanks for the grub!..... in Jesus name.. Amen!"

Should I go to the meetings?
by Nickey ini'm having a bit of a problem.. my mother recently decided to go back to the meetings.
it isn't enough that i've made a personal decision for myself to not go.
but i find her constantly trying to push me to go.

i feel sick
by nelly1 ini just went to the supermarket and came face to face with an elders wife coming out of the store,.
i was polite and said hello as im just a fader as they refer to it on this board, but im not kidding youd think she had just met hitler.... that is how she reacted to me, i left those meetings cuz of how they treated me and the lies hypocrisy lack of love on and on but being reacted to like that hurts and makes me so angry.... how the heck do you deal with it, it really affects me so much..... its realy hurtful oh well i need to realise shes not important in my life so what she thinks dont matter squatt.
hard tho isnt it?.

Our first year of marriage was our happiest. We only courted a few months so it was as much a learning adventure than anything. Then we had kids, then we "got the truth", then 9 years later we got out. Now we`re trying to rekindle the first few years since we feel that, although we were married, we were so busy bringing up children, then being devoted to "the truth", that we hardly had time for each other. It`ll be our 20th wedding anniversary at the end of next month and we still feel we have a lot of learning (about each other) to do. Strange eh?

My Mrs (accidentally) let one rip during a quiet moment in the book study once. Both my children, and myself, were so embarrassed! We didnt want to breathe either! hehe She has a habit of doing that at the most inopportune moments!
Jesika, Try not to give your kids too much attention with their little game. You seem to be fuelling them to do it all the more. If they continue just tell them they stink (in a light hearted way), and if you`re in the car just wind down all of the windows, or if theyre inside tell them to go out. Its a phase that boys seem to go through. Some never finish it though - that might happen with your little angels if theyre rewarded with attention.
