Concerned JW said"Please look at verse 14 "but as for you, continue in what you learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you have learned it."
So why do you preach to people who have already learned & are convinced of what they believe re the Bible?
When Paul said this he was speaking of himself & others who taught the truth about Christ. JW's are just another religion who like others have good & bad, falsehood & truth. What makes JWs stand out is the damage they cause to people. JW are a small religion too small to have the problems it does and claim to be God's only means of salvation. By your fruits you will know them Jesus said. The feelings of hurt & betrayal on this board is but a small sample of the rotten fruit the WBTS has produced. You called the information I sent to you ex-jw fodder. That's the pot calling the kettle black.
The damage that was caused us & our families is too serious to say mistakes will happen. Yes humans are imperfect but your Governing Body & it's slave never admit to their own mistakes. They put themselves on a pedesatal and expect JW's to eat the crap that falls. I want to be nice to you sincerely want to help you know what a real relationship with God is like. This is not the time for you. You are not ready and I doubt you ever will be.
I don't agree with everything on this forum but that's life. We agree to disagree. That's what makes humans different. Yes many here no longer believe in God but that's their right. Just as it is yours to continue with a cancer of a religion. My belief in God in no way can tolerate any religion that so blasphemes his name.
If you are on this board solely to preach JW fodder, you are wasting your time. If you are here to count field service time then shame on you. If you are a true blue JW shame on you because your masters in Brooklyn have told you to stay away from us.
DO NOT PM ME ANYMORE UNLESS YOU ARE IN NEED OF HELP TO BREAK FREE FROM THE BOTCHTOWER.
If I'm out of line I apologize to the board but this guy is getting on my nerves.

Freedom is amazing!!!
There were questions here & there but being a true believer I would not allow myself to think anything ill of God's organization. I like how Zoiks put it "In my mind, individuals could err and show bad traits, but Jehovah's Organization was always right and Jehovah would take care of everything."
March of this year I realized I had the heavenly hope & my awakening began I started to realize the teachings don't make sense. In April I read Crisis of Conscience, found Watchtower Comments, FreeMinds & Watchtower Documents and I reached out to Barbara Anderson. The thought of my having been betrayed landed me in the psych ward from the stress. I still could not allow myself to believe I had been lied to. I tried to look for reasons to stay and only found more reasons to go.
In June I read In Search of Christian Freedom and found JWFacts. One month ago today I started to browse this site looking for someone I knew who went thru what I was now experiencing. The next day I came across the thread with Donny's Bethel pics. I emailed him and he was a great help. I joined this forum after I read Cruzanheart's letter of disassociation www.jehovahs-witness.net/watchtower/scandals/47789/1/My-Letter-to-the-Elders-in-My-Late-Fathers-Congregation. That letter brought me to tears. 2 weeks later I wrote my own and am now free.
I look forward to having years free behind me. I want to pay it forward and hope to be of help to someone else.
I hope for my husbands freedom.

DO NOT have children in this system!!
by What Now? ingrowing up, this is something that my other always told me.
i've had several conversations with older sisters who have said that if they could do things over, they wouldn't have had children.
other couples my own age are horrified at the thought of raising children in "this system".

My in-laws went back & forth whether or not to have kids 1975 was so close. My husband never pictured himself having children. I was back & forth. My body wanted to have babies but my JW mind kept saying no I should pursue full time service.
Well on a weekend trip we left the condoms and we could not wait to go to the store in the morning. My girl was born 9 mths later. My sick JW mind actually resented her at times since I could not balance motherhood & pioneering. I'm grateful for an older sister who counseled me. She said "You are fulfilling God's original purpose to hell with pioneering. What good is it to pioneer & risk ruining your child's childhood? Have you ever considered how many pioneers children don't stay in the truth? Pioneer after she's grown up until then she is your priority. "

Things to inspire JW Youth...We're rooting for you
by discreetslave injehovah's witnesses have the lowest retention rate of any religious tradition.
only 37% of all those who say they were raised as jehovah's witnesses still identify themselves as jehovah's witnesses.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6d2w-enhvdk.

I know Why The Caged Bird Sings By Maya Angelou
The free bird leaps
on the back of the win
and floats downstream
till the current ends
and dips his wings
in the orange sun rays
and dares to claim the sky.
But a bird that stalks
down his narrow cage
can seldom see through
his bars of rage
his wings are clipped and
his feet are tied
so he opens his throat to sing.
The caged bird sings
with fearful trill
of the things unknown
but longed for still
and is tune is heard
on the distant hillfor the caged bird
sings of freedom
The free bird thinks of another breeze
an the trade winds soft through the sighing trees
and the fat worms waiting on a dawn-bright lawn
and he names the sky his own.
But a caged bird stands on the grave of dreams
his shadow shouts on a nightmare scream
his wings are clipped and his feet are tied
so he opens his throat to sing
The caged bird sings
with a fearful trill
of things unknown
but longed for still
and his tune is heard
on the distant hill
for the caged bird
sings of freedom. -

What has the WT$ TAKEN from you?
by VampireDCLXV inif you've been around here long enough, you will have seen people saying how they "gave up" or "sacrificed" certain things so that they could be good little jws.
what about those of us who were growing up in it and we didn't even have a choice in the matter?
what about those of us from whom some things in life were forcibly ripped away, things that 'normal' people take for granted in their life?.

I know that if I had known about Russell's ties with the occult I wouldn't have gotten baptized. Yet if I had not become a witness I wouldn't have my husband and our kids. So I wouldn't alter history either.
I gave up a dramatic arts scholarship and for a while I gave up on being myself and happiness.

Same Here I have lots of good memories and it saved my life as a teenager. I wasn't looking for an excuse to leave either I just learned The Truth about "The Truth". As a JW I learned to stand up for God & his word & that's what I did by leaving.

Point taken Besty.
Concerned JW I apologize being mentally diseased & all I get carried away.
Since mind control depends on creating a new identity within the individual, cult doctrine always requires that a person distrust his own self. The doctrine becomes the "master program" for all thoughts, feelings, and actions. Since it is the TRUTH, perfect and absolute, any flaw in it is viewed as only a reflection of the believer's own imperfection. He is taught that he must follow the prescribed formula even if he doesn't really understand it. At the same time he is told that he should try to work harder and have more faith so he will come to understand the truth more clearly.

Continuing to draw the line between cults and DESTRUCTIVE cults
by sabastious inthe easiest place to start understanding a spectral concept, such as cults, is to indentify it's lowest and highest points rather than starting somewhere in the middle.. so lets call the lowest point of the cult spectrum benign and the highest point destructive.. a good example of an extremely benign cult would be the following of the not so popular 80s movie: the princess bride of which i consider myself a member (no documentation .
if you were to come up to me and claim to be part of the princess bride's cult following i could figure out whether you are a true member by asking you a few questions.
based on your answers i could then conclude that you either meet the criteria or that you do not.

@ DarkKnight Glad to be of help my brother. I am doing my best to give to all their food at the proper time.
For Lurkers does any of this sound familiar
Pg 64 para 2-4
In some groups, happiness simply means following the leader's directions,
recruiting a lot of new members, or bringing in a lot of money. Happiness is
defined as the sense of community provided by the cult, to those who enjoy
good status.
Loyalty and devotion are the most highly respected emotions of all. Members
are not allowed to feel or express negative emotions, except toward
outsiders. Members are taught never to feel for themselves or their own needs
but always to think of the group and never to complain. They are never to
criticize a leader, but criticize themselves instead.
Many groups exercise complete control over interpersonal relationships.
Leaders can and do tell people to avoid certain members or spend time with
others. Some even tell members whom they can marry, and control the entire
relationship, including their sex lives. Some groups require members to deny or
suppress sexual feelings, which become a source of bottled-up frustration that
can be channeled into other outlets such as harder work. Other groups require
sexuality, and a member who hangs back is made to feel selfish. Either way, the
group is exercising emotional control. -

ConcernedJW why are you not heeding the warning? w7/15/2011
6 How can we protect ourselves against false teachers? The Bible’s counsel regarding how to deal with them is clear. (Read Romans 16:17; 2 John 9-11.) “Avoid them,”says God’s Word. Other translations render that phrase “turn away from them,” “keep away from them,” and “stay away from them!” There is nothing ambiguous about that inspired counsel. Suppose that a doctor told you to avoid contactwith someone who is infected with a contagious, deadly disease. You would know what the doctor means,
and you would strictly heed his warning. 7 What is involved in avoiding false teachers? We do not receive them into our homes or greet them.
We also refuse to read their literature, watch TV programs that feature them, examine their Web sites, or add our comments to their blogs. If you are happy with your way of worship go & confess your sins to the elders. Leave us mentally diseased apostates alone to exercise our 1st amendment right to inform others & make fun of you.
