Tax Return: Norval, ON Assembly Hall

the second page gives the financial details required on the return.. the norval assembly hall is located on the north-west outskirts of toronto.
it is a fairly typical assembly hall, used mainly for circuit assemblies.. you will note from the return that the assembly hall has a value of approximately cdn$3.73 million (us$2.52million).

thx expat. youll have to help me with interpreting the financial stuff here but i can correct one thing. the donations at assemblies (at norval at any rate) are not made to the worldwide work, they are made to the individual circuit. so from one assembly, the same circuit will carry their own balance to the next assembly, 6mo later. i believe it is administered similar to the KHs, with the principle accounts belonging to the individual congregation rather that the KH, with a smaller account belonging to the KH to cover small common expenses.
at norval this very weekend, the account report was read for our circuit. we had a positive balance of some $3000 or so from our last assembly, "so the elders got together... and disposed of it," annouced the accounts coordinator with a smile. chuckles all around. this seems pretty standard. any excesses are usually donated to some other society fund. why would they accrue a large fund for the assembly hall over the course of the year anyway? the money's just sitting there doing nothing, isnt it?

she married my dad when he was an unbaptized person and this was frowned upon.
she'd been previously married and had to divorce cause he had another wife in another country.

a letter is always sent with a new publisher, and actually it IS scriptural according to Ro 16:1 (and i think other places too) where paul recommends people into new congregations. if one wanted to take issue with the content of the comments, thats another matter.

by metatron inin november they got 966,528 pubs and 90,542 pioneers.. so, their exploitation of the wtc tragedy and 15 minute.
publisher policy has worked very well for them.. in december they got 968,126 publishers and 89,808 pioneers.
again, a big success in exploitation and 'paper' publishers.. i note that the pioneers dropped by 734 however.. maybe some more mass death will help.. metatron

attendance stats are frequently rounded up a bit depending on how the brother counts babies, young children, people on phone hook-up or how many people they guess are in the washrooms. those stats are just used locally and for the CO. the ministry stats are fairly accurate tho. of course, the 'hours' count you cant take too literally because individual publishers are highly skilled at rounding this one up.

if one wants to find an explanation of why britain is NOT the successor of rome, one needn't look very far. we dont have to go outside the WT publications, why, we dont even have to go outside the WT interpretations of daniel! in daniel's king of the north and south prophecy, which scholars again agree, goes no farther than maccabean period in its descriptions, the WT engages in some incredible twisting to make it stretch to the 20th century.
unfortunately, they appear to have forgotten the history they used earlier in daniel 7 which made both britain AND america mere offshoots of rome (as defender argues above.) in their interpretation of the two kings, rome is identified with the king of north, solely in order to get jesus into the prophecy. later they need to get to the 20th century, so they give a short explanation of why the successor to rome is actually GERMANY! britain and america become the king of the south, in OPPOSITION to the north king. how can britain be both the successor to AND the opponent of rome? one can flip between the two chapters in the Daniel book and find the short paragraphs that condense centuries of history into a few intelligent-looking sentences that argue the EXACT OPPOSITE THINGS! one that says britain takes over rome, and one that says germany does. in the SAME BOOK!
to be fair, its not the author's fault exactly. this book is a simplified version of the Your Will Be Done from everyones favourite oracle, fred franz. the modern WT is stuck with his lengthy historical rantings and no one seems to have a clue what to do about any of it.

someone mentioned that the biblical meaning of 'adultery' was closer to 'adulterate,' to make impure, and that it refered to sex with another man's wife or to marriage with a non-israelite, both of which were considered 'adulteration' of the family line, making impure. i dont know what the linguistic evidence for this is but this was another 'light-bulb' moment for me, an explanation that made perfect sense in light of the culture that produced the bible. i would like to know more about this.
