Valis,
Everyone needs at least one friend like you! Sometimes we need to hear the things that may hurt us the most, but in the end will help us take a deeper look at ourselves.
excellent advice by the way!
at this moment in time, i am currently a jw and work for a school in birmingham uk.. i know alot of people on this site are not jehovahs witnesses and from their postings have no time for them.. but anyway....... about two years ago i split up with my girlfriend and ended up on the scrap heap - i was devestated.
i had a breakdown and was on anti-depressants for a period of time.
in the meantime afterwards i met another sister and started courting her.

i am 50 years old today.
the world is a very different place from the one i was born into.
i have been witness to the beginnings of television and the explosion in communications; cell phones and computers.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY LADY LEE!
sometimes i wonder if the legalism and the authoritarianism in the wt have a purpose that i intuitively understood at first, and that somehow i've become blinded of the necessity of those things.. two things keep entering my mind - .
1. jesus likened his followers to sheep, and;.
2. the israelites got tired of the manna.. in leaving the wt, am i like the israelites who complained about the "contemptible bread"?
Yes, Dan you are right!
You are a very kind, generous and loving individual and have your whole life ahead of you....make that life worth living! Also, being young and single you have nothing holding you back from whatever you want!
You could always come for a cookout this weekend and leave your cares behind!
You know that you are always welcome in our home,
Michelle
i have been over at another board for quite some time now, but had heard so much about this place i figured i had better see what all the "hub bub" is about!
lol.
i just wanted to say hi before i started posting.
Welcome Garbage Girl...this board is a lot of fun, and it does move fast!
now this question about satan and his longevity, is a farkel type question.
farkel, if you have covered this before, then i hope i did not plagerize.
well, anyway, we have this spirit creature who turns against god.
Now, if I was an angel, the choice would be a no brainer. I would go for the big guy with all the glory who is going to let me live forever.
You obviously were not a "middle" child. The middle child always goes the rebellious route!

Similar to a bad marriage....you know you would be better off to get out, but the fear of change and the unknown keeps you in.
I always liked the saying, "If you want your life to change, you need to change your life".
i was wondering if anyone wanted to come to my defense on this jw discussion board at http://www.beliefnet.org this jw that post as "rosemaybud" is driving me crazy and i am tired of trying to get her off my back.
she never post about anything much, except to make hateful remarks to me or about me.
i post as "loveofwaterlilies".
This individual posted two more similar comments about me, so I addressed her personally under a new heading "RoseMaybud's claims"

have you heard about the next planned "survivor" show?
mark burnett, producer of "survivor" plans to enlist 12 men, who will be dropped in an unidentified suburb with a van, six kids (each of whom play two sports and take either a musical instrument or dance class), and no access to fast food.
they must keep the house clean, correct all homework (receiving at least a "b+" on all papers), complete one science project, cook (ok, they can bring one cookbook), do laundry, etc.
I don't think they could even find 12 men willing to try!
But, I would even PAY to see an episode like that!

Plus they have to shave their legs and wear makeup which they must apply themselves either while driving or while making six lunches.
The competitions will consist of such things as attending a PTA meeting and accurately reporting the results; cleaning up after a sick child at 3:00 a.m; making an Indian hut model with six toothpicks, a tortilla and one marker; and getting a 4 year old to eat a serving of peas.
The kids vote them off!
The winner gets to go back to his job.
