NATO INVOKES ARTICLE V - Serious
by Amazing inwhen nato invokes article v, it is more than just one member asking for support from the other member states, but article v invocation means all member states view the attack as an attack on them all.
in other words, nato aliance is at war with those responsible, and will support the us lead, which will now hold not only the terrorists responsible, but hold those nations that host them as equally responsible.. "brussels, belgium (cnn) -- nato has unanimously declared the hijack attacks on the u.s. to be an assault against all member states.".
"it is the first time in 52 years that the alliance has invoked article v -- the nato self-defence charter that says if one member state is under attack all other member nations would defend it.".

The mindset of another Religion. The SDA Church
by barry inwhen a minister skied to church, his board of elders accused him of desecrating the sabbath.
''why mom,ye skied on the lord's holy day,'' said one of the elders.
the minister protested; but that was the only way i could have come to services.

That is so silly - sorta like asking a person if they enjoyed driving to thier place of worship or enjoyed taking a bath. Didn't they bother to read the gospel accounts? Of course - after a while they take the bible away from you, so what's the diff?
Barry - please share more on SDA - I find it very interesting. My inlaws are SDA and I want to speak with them from some "inside" knowledge.

Superficial People
by BugEye insuperficial people are a little like goldfish.. they have a 3 second memory.. once they have eaten their fill, they go looking for more.. they are generally a little stupid.. they have a 3 second memory.
life consists of looking around for the same thing all the time.. they are unaware of anything outside of their tank.. the world really does revolve around them.. they have a 3 second memory.. if you try to hold them, you will find them to be slippery little suckers.. you can have some fun with them for a while, watching them is fascinating.. they take work and effort to keep.. they often look attractive, but dont have anything inside.. they have a 3 second memory.. .

Jehovah's Witnesses and arguing...
by Abaddon inone thing i have noticed, both in my own reportoire of personal habits and in those of others posting on xjw boards, is the tendency to argue.. i contrast this to a few other boards i've frequented on a variety of topics.
obviously there are disagreements, but xdub boards can get really crazy at times.. there is this tendancy for xjw's to argue like rabid dogs; hell, it's not just the x's who do it, current jw's are just as bad.. this is over and above the normal 'spit on the mat and call the cat a bastard' atmosphere that often prevails on discussion boards (although if you ever want to see a really polite board i suggest you go to a lifestyle bdsmer's board!!)..
are we all psychos?.

MrMoe
Ballistic - the whole argument started from me saying I felt sorry for the homeless.
Unreal.
From now on I suppose it is bette that I be cold hearted? I don't freaking think so. Thank goodness you were there, or I woulda lost it.

That is a very good point Abaddon. I think ex-JW's do have one edge though - they are ex-JW's for a reason.

So Sad....
by StifflersErSlayersBrother inimagine this.. a little child, about 3 or 4, sitting there, looking around.... he leans over and sees his shoe is untied, he looks up at his parent who doesn't seem to care much, almost falling asleep, so he leans over and ties it all by himself for the first time!
he smiles proudly and looks up at his parent and tuggs on their shirt.
the parent looks down with anger and pinches the little boy on the arm real hard.

MrMoe
Naeblis - please tell me you are joking... if not I have seen far to many toddlers whooped because of not sitting still. And the kids who did not get spankings - well thier parents were looked down upon. Sickening, because I used to be pretty tough on my daughter...

FREE happiness tips
by ozziepost init seems part of the experience of seeing the truth about 'the troof' is an abundance of negative feelings.
this can be detrimental even if it is necessary.. so in the interest of helping us balance out our negative feelings, here's a list of "happiness tips":.
1. think happy.

First Df was in 1997 - 3 elders and no appeal commitee (figured why bother, ya know?)
Reinstated in the end of 1998.
Inactive status right now, but I never know where the elders lurk next...
When I go out, I will go out with a BANG!
