  Quitting smoking (again)

  i managed to stay off the bloody things for over 2 1/2 yrs but alas i fell off the wagon in september.

  my plan is to ramp-down today by only having a cig every two hours or so, then cold turkey tomorrow.

  i have a hard time holding myself to 'quit days' when i'm the only one who knows what day it is, hence i'm making it public so that i feel more accountable.

  and damm i love to shop...even on black friday.

  i have a feeling it is just because i have never done it and it was forbidden...but so was sex once and i jumped all over that one!

  is it because i do not believe jesus was not god nor his son?

  it took us about 4 years to join in. Our kids did it first, and not wanting to be left out, we did it too. It felt funny for a couple of years though.

  It's just years of indoctrination and mind control. Focus on that, and that there is NOTHING wrong with it...........at all.

  We also tend toward agnostic, but more likely atheist. You can't find an angel, nativity anything, or any religious stuff on our tree. We are all for Santa, snowmen, and gifts for the grandkids. It really is so much fun.

  No More Publisher Numbers

  according to a report on the german xjw-board: http://forum.sektenausstieg.net/index.php?topic=13367.msg391400#msg391400 the german kingdom ministry for february 09 does not contain a supplement with the publisher figures.

  .

  furthermore, it does not contain the monthly report for the first month of the service year 2009 (sep 08) as it used to in the past.sixty years.. this may indicate that the wts is not that transparent with their publishers numbers any more if they are not even doing away with it.. can anyone confirm from other countries?.

  Did you ever really have true blue friends being a Witness?

  looking back i don't think i really ever had any good friends being witness, cause if i would have some out of all those people and so called friends i thought i had, you would think one of them would have looked me up over the years.

  Do You Like Teenagers?

  i mean really like them?.

  4 of my 6 g'kids are now teenagers.

  i can't stand them.. an old lady once told me that you've got to hate them (teenagers) before you can really love them.. i think she was on to something.. sylvia.

  I do because I think I understand them. Out of our 4 kids, only 1 gave us trouble, and he is 42 now and a very good man, with a great family. Teen years are difficult but most survive them. We have two granddaughters who are 23 and 19. The 19 year old is very irresponsible and flaky, but so funny and loving. I have confidence she will find her place. You just have to love them to death, unconditionally.

  A teacher friend of mine told me once, that the way kids are as toddlers will give you an idea of how they will be as teenagers. I found that to be oh so true.

  none that I can think of................my mother is still a JW, but she never cut off my brother who has been df'd since the 70's. It might make it difficult to take her to lunch, but that's about it.

  Music Groups or Singers have you seen in Concert Before ? Your Opinion ?

  i've seen a good number , not as many as some, or maybe a few more than others.

  here's my list i've seen live !

  ottmar leibert - new age / flamenco guitarist - very good show , good percussion and spanish style guitar ( 1993 ) .

  MULAN- Great list ! You have seen some of the classic performers then ! Sinatra, Bob Hope, Fabian, Neil Diamond, and even Cher ? Was she wearing her crazy outfit ?

  She had many costume changes, and did wear that great outfit from "If I Could Turn Back Time". For 63, she looks very, very good.

  I went to see Shania Twain with my daughter and granddaughter too. Good show. She has some really good musicians in her group.

  See the movie "AUSTRALIA" with Kidman and Jackman!!

  yes australia was bombed by the japanese in world war 2 in darwin....but this movie has so much more...this couple look fantastic together and the scenery gives you an idea of australias natural wonders.....will review film next week.

  glad to hear someone liked it............it's getting so-so reviews, grade C-

  I was looking forward to it until I read the reviews.............all of them agree too, saying not to waste your money, poor direction, etc.

  Cher...........really good show, she is funny and curses like a truck driver. Her show at Caesar's Palace in Vegas is a real extravaganza.

  Platters, Coasters and Drifters (in Vegas) music from the 60's........we loved it

  Neil Diamond many times..........he puts on a great, really long show, with encore after encore

  Reba McEntire............also great show with good lead in acts

  Kenny Rogers (20 years ago)............great show,........his lead in was The Righteous Brothers

  Brothers Cazimero (love Hawaiian music)

  Frank Sinatra (he smoked non stop)

  Della Resse

  Bob Hope (I'm dating myself now)

  Kingston Trio

  Brothers Four

  Fabian (when I was about 14)

  probably more, but that's all I remember right now

  Why aren't JW's exposed in the news on 60 Minutes?

  i know we had the dateline show a few years ago, but what about recently?.

  seems to me that with about a million members in the us, and all the strange policies like blood transfusions, informing authorities re child molestation, disfellowshipping, that it would be a big story.

  especially with so many witnesses that are depressed, or suicidal, or with the broken marriages, or children that die or those that are shunned.

  I think the lawyers keep real busy making sure it doesn't happen, as well as the fact someone else already commented on............NOBODY CARES. I am surprised, to this day, how many people have never heard of JW's.
