  i seem to remember some new 'rule' that elders whose children go to college, or perhaps it was out-of-state college, should be carefully examined to see if they still qualify.. does anyone know where that is in the publications?.

  The screaming issue is one that the borg flip-flops on from time to time. I agree with Outlaw that this story doesn't quite hold together, but is probably fabricated to instill fear in women, who, according to Farkel, the WT ranks just below pond scum.

  There are plenty of real stories of rape and attempted rape. Sometimes not screaming could keep a victim from being killed. Each person has to use her own judgment as to how to handle such a situation. Your wife is lucky to have someone to protect her.

  "Anonymous" featured in WT study lesson photo: deeper meaning?

  if this has already been discussed i apologize.

  i'm only here sporadically anymore.

  in a recent wt study a photo was featured in the magazine that showed a "brother" ignoring the "worldly" people around him, including one who appeared to represent the group "anonymous".. i have come to learn that nothing can be taken at surface value when it comes to the borg.

  Some years ago, possibly on another discussion board (I've posted on various boards since 1997), someone posted an illustration from one of the WT publications showing people in a panic state during the great tribulation or Armageddon. One of the people about to fall into a large pit bore a strong resemblance to Kent Steinhaug, a Norwegian ex-JW who had once put up a link to the Norwegian Pagan Society site which had a link to the "Flock" book.

  If you do not know anything about Kent, google his name. He is one of the people the WT hates most.

  My point is that they are not above getting back at those they hate in this manner.

  japan had a handful of witnesses after ww 2....this number skyrocketed to 222,912 by 1998!

  then something happened.

  publisher figures didn't stop, they dropped by thousands over the next decade!.

  he suggests that just as elders are given a package for fighting court custody cases (what to say do bring etc).

  those facing a jc should have a package for dealing with a situation where the elduhs want to "talk with you.".

  hows about we start to make one?.

  I recommend a hand grenade in each packet, some snacks, some medication, your knitting or something similar to keep your hands busy. If it were a real hearing, I would recommend some cogent facts and scans of literature, but, as jgnat said, you're doomed from the first minute.

  i don't know about you, i'm an atheist, but i cannot accept that any religion can justify this inhumane, brutal, wicked treatment of a child victim of rape.. there is no excuse for this behaviour on the part of a supposedly civilsed government.

  it has fuck all to do with religion, it has all to do with humanity and being a 'human being'.. i have written to my mp and hope to follow this up through the un charter on childrens' rights.. anyone here booked a 'maldives luxury holiday'?.

  i was shocked i do not know why as i have read that the co's were doing this but to hear it with my own ears was unbelievable.

  i do not go to the meetings but my husband still does and this week is the co's visit.

  i decided that i would listen in to his talk; i swear i have lost some brain cells by doing it but anywho.. he started out by talking about the old story that has been in the wt many times about a little boy who was seven and raised a chicken and gave the money to the society.

  i had the pleasure of conducting a telephone interview with "truth be told" filmmaker gregorio smith yesterday.

  he is a fascinating, intelligent person and has an intimate knowledge of the destructiveness the watchtower society has wreaked upon people's lives due to shunning, the blood ban, etc.. some two years in the making, this full-length documentary film entitled "truth be told" seeks to expose the watchtower for what it is.

  a debut screening for the public will take place in brooklyn new york on march 27, 2013. other major cities will follow.

  Congratulations! To paraphrase Neil Sedaka, Waking up is hard to do. But you've done it.

  It's great to be free to make one's own mistakes and take responsibility for oneself, and letting go of "The Devil made me do it" mentality.
