Thanks for everyones input. I thought there may have been some here that at one time considered themselves to be one of the 144,000.Sort of like some posters here were once elders but now have a different belief. In my years attending the Kingdom Hall, I was not an elder, So I can appreciate posters that have been, and the insight they can bring. I thought the same may have been true of those who considered themselves to be in the 144,000 class. Sounds confusing I guess. Thanks again.

Hello Beryl, I think I would say what Random Task has already said, Except the part where he feels the end will never come. I think it could come tomorrow, Or I may die of old age. I don't even speculate anymore when armageddon will occur.
Jgnat spoke of a tape recorder in your head, Which I believe is very true for many people, Including myself. Try a new tape of positive thinking, instead of negative. I went to a baptist church for a short time. Other churches too. There are many sincere people in a lot of different churches. People dedicated as much as any witness. Also, It is not simply attending some building that pleases Jehovah. It is who we are on the inside that matters. We can't hide anything at all from God. He sees all. And knows all. I feel that there is no "buying" our way into Gods kingdom. It is a free gift he has offered to us.

From What I understand, The watchtower no longer teaches this to be a literal generation of people. So the"truth" book was wrong. So, That means that any one of their current publications can contain false teachings. So I guess I just don't, For the life of me understand why The witnesses get so upset and shun people when they leave because of false teachings. Just gootta keep on believing that new light I guess huh?

Great post! I feel that even if the tower would "legally" have to stop shunning, It is another thing to get the followers to be decent about it and not stop at the minimums of the law, but go beyond and sincerely treat eachother like human beings. Currently , some witnesses treat there own pets better than they do family members because of disfellowshipping.

Yes, I do feel an emptyness. By the sound of your comments, You also feel an emptyness. Any suggestions? Have you tried any other churches that worked for you? I have tried several, But the tower is so different from most others, That anything else is a shock.
