i was just wondering: never in my life have i owned (or even read) a bible other than the nwt.
i really wish to study the bible but really do not wish to use this version.
after seeing the plethora of bibles out there i was wondering if there is any person here who can give me an un-biased opinion on which bible to get.
Hi Kat_,
Welcome to the board, saw your thread in the personal experiences forum.
If you would like to compare several versions of the bible, there used to be (and probably still is) an on-line site with several versions of the bible. It's called the World Wide Study Bible, sorry I don't have the url handy, but if you go to Yahoo or Google (or any other search engine of your choice) you should be able to find it.
I personally bought several versions of the bible to do comparisions when reading it. The WWSB allows the same thing on-line.
Good luck,
Michelle
hello people,.
on saturday, a speaker from bethel was in town and gave a talk/lecture/seminar on the subject of bloodless surgery.
earlier that day i found the oct 15, 2000 wt with the qfr article discussing blood yet again.
Hiya C!
I'm doing well, as is the family. Getting the kiddies ready to go back to school and gearing up for all the activities involved with the start of school. Had a lovely date with my hubby last night, stayed out past my bedtime for a work night, but a good time was had.
Glad to hear that your wife's therapy is helping your family life, my best wishes for y'guys.
Thanks for asking,
Michelle

Hello people,
On Saturday, a speaker from Bethel was in town and gave a talk/lecture/seminar on the subject of bloodless surgery.
Earlier that day I found the Oct 15, 2000 WT with the QFR article discussing blood yet again. Utterly astounding! I knew about the prohibition on storing your own blood for surgery but in light of the new permissions given for the use of fractions, it just peeved me. I wonder if the talk reinforced the article, talked about Hemopure, or if new permissions were allowed.
Has anyone had a speaker call a special meeting regarding this topic? And/or does anyone know what was discussed about bloodless surgery?
Many thanks,
Michelle

yesterday, in this thread http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/forum/thread.asp?id=9805&site=3 i spouted these words: happened to drag rays book, isocf from its hidding place in my car....at lunch time today.. i opened to any page, i needed to brighten my day like no other j-dub borg book, could ever do.. .
i found a deception for the many newbies, trolls and plants that have been visiting us here in spiritual paradise, aka:simons board .
i cant post it till tommorow, because i cant bring that book into the house while the j-dub wife is trolling around.
Bumping this up...a topic that deserves attention from some of our newbies and lurkers.
As the nonJW parent, this was a major concern of mine. I too was sickened when I came across the child custody pamphlet on-line--and panicked. I also know that I have limited financial resources, but I had heard that the JW parent will have the financial backing of his/her congregation and aid from the Society as well. Whether or not that is true, it was enough to induce some sleepless nights.
I think this topic is par for course for the WTS, say one thing to the public and another to the membership. As I told my husband when he was baptized, "You detest double-standards and hypocrisy, for the life of me I cannot fathom why you would willingly join an organization that is full of both."

my cars cheap cd player is on repeat playing track 9, bob dylan singing tomorrow night during my hour long commute to a job not suitable for a 58 yr old man.
returning home the same tune plays just short of distortion, a funeral dirge for wessie.. tomorrow night.
will it just be another memory, .

Ditto..I suppose I could say I choked on my lunch if someone walks by.

my husband sent this to me it had circulated the company a few times - some of the previous email titles for it were:.
"how to make your marriage work" .
Title: To Induce Vomiting..
Ugh. I think a warning label should have been put into your post Closer, I'm just thankful I saw this before lunch.
LOL @ expatbrit, I vote for your title.

my wife recently began therapy.
her therapist is unaware of just what type of religion the wt is (high-control group).
she even suggested we attend a neutral non-denominational church as a compromise.
Hiya C,
Sorry don't know of anyone, but I just wanted to say "WHOO-HOOO!!!"
Keeping my fingers crossed and sending best wishes your way.
Michelle
hello, i married a wittness in 98. although i do not believe that way.
i thought that i would be able to deal with the religion.
but as it turns out, i can't.
Hi TL, welcome to the board.
I'm also a nonJW married to a JW...
I don't really have much to offer, except that I agree with some of the posters above in that it sounds like some counselling is in order if you want to make the marriage work. I don't think that taking your husband out of the WTS is going to change the underlying problem.
Also you said:
I dont really know but i think i might have some signs of depression. I can't bring myself to get out of bed hardly anymore. And when I do get up, I don't want to do anything. And thats not like me, Im a clean freak. And here lately, I could care less if my house is clean. I feel sick all the time. I don't know if its in my head or maybe its my nerves.
Now I don't even play a psychologist on TV, but from what I've read and from what I've experienced, yep, this is depression. I recommend that you get some help for this, esp. since you have a house full of kids and it will affect them.
Good luck,
Michelle
ok, heres my story.... i am 21 years old, male, and i am not a j.w., but i have hopelessly fallen in love with one.
unfortuntately, i do not believe what she believes in (i use the word unfortuntately because i wish i could believe, but i cant and it tears me apart).
i'm sure that this has happened a million times before, and you guys probably hear about it a lot, but i'm finding it very difficult to deal with, since she has also fallen deeply in love with me, but she feels like the only option is to let it go.
