That is funny Joel. I see things haven't changed. It was tough not to get trampled as the hoards of tupperware totin' bros/sis's would stampede about 'gleaning' the leftovers. Kinda like standing in front of the doors of an assembly when the open in the AM and the loving bros/sis's stampede in for the 'good' seats! :D

funny bethel stories
by joelbear inthought i'd share some of the adventures.. one day we had roast beef at lunch which was one of the more delicious meals at bethel.
i used roast beef to make sandwiches for the evenings and weekends.. the rule was, you were allowed to go to any table after dismissal to take leftovers.
i was approaching a table with a full dish of roast beef when a sister rushed up and grabbed the dish and took off with it.

Who Is This Larouche Guy Anyway?
by Englishman ini keep falling over the sayings of mister larouche everytime that i take a peek at you knows posts.. i decided to investigate some of his writings.
it seems to me that he has 2 bees in his bonnet, the first is that the usa is about to plunge into economical decline, the second indicates that 'lil' ole england wants to subvert the entire united states and pinch all it's wealth.. can someone give me some background on this fellow?
is he a respected sort of guy or is he a shrimp short of a seafood salad?

WHY THE WATCHTOWER IS DOOMED!
by You Know inisaiah 30:21 is an oft quoted scripture by the watchtower.
it reads: "and your own ears will hear a word behind you saying: "this is the way.
walk in it, you people, in case you should go to the right or in case you should go to the left.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH! ROTFLMOL PMP!
What a crackpot. Hmmm. Let's see. The JW's are mostly brain dead ...
And it is true that Jehovah's Witnesses greatly respect such and offer the Watchtower more-or-less unquestioning acceptance of their authority to determine for them what is God's truth. So, in a sense the Watchtower organization could be seen as an idol, in that it stands in the place of God in the hearts and minds of some, or even most, of Jehovah's so-called Witnesses.
And thus are (probably) going to die in this great 'colapse' that will happen in 1998, er 1999, err 2000, err "Real Soon Now".
So I guess once the money is all worthless and the System Ends(TM), it will just be you left huh? Since all the evil non-JW's will have been killed, as will all the evil brain-dead idol-worshipping of the FDS/Gov Body/Org JW's who didn't listen to You (Know).
Why not do us a favor and just start your own cult since You Know so much more than anyone else?

WHY APOSTASY IS DOOMED TO FAILURE!!!
by You Know inapostasy has been the devil's most effective means of fighting against the truth.
after all, time and time again the devil was able to lure the israelites away from the worship of jehovah and in to all sorts of idol worship and whatnot.
some anointed christians in the 1st century were also induced to become antichrists.

Hmmm. So the FDS is proved to be right and backed by God because they are fullfilling prophesy about stumbling all the brothers. So because they get so much wrong they are the true org. I see. How stupid of me for not seeing that!
But the other christain religions are just wrong, even though they to stumble the brothers and teach falsehood, but that just proves that they are 'Babylon the Great'. Ah ha! Makes perfect sense.
Go back to sleep now ... ... ...

Will You Make Room for Pioneering?
by TMS inregardless of scriptural implications, creating special categories of service such as colporteur, pioneer, special pioneer, etc.
was a brilliant move.. the prestige, status and few little perks associated with those committing to being full-time workers is miniscule compensation for their sacrifice of time, lifestyle, income and educational opportunities.. yes, the hour requirements have dropped on several occasions.
how many on the board know that the regular pioneer requirement was once 150 hours a month, then 1200 hours a year, than 1000, now 90-vacation/assembly time?.

Pioneering is often the only way the normally down-troden souls could experience their moment in the sun, and feel important, be it Aux or Reg pioneer. That way you are elevated in the cong, and have just a bit more athority and status. It amazes me that people in 'da troof' can't see what a rat-race the JW lifestile is, always striving for the elders and cong's pleasure and reassurance that you are a good person, and one that people want to be around. A totally social environment, all done for the pleasing of others.

Also, do you know that the man who designed the first spacecraft for NASA was someone who eventually became a brother (or he was a brother, hmm)! Also, the MEPS? systems, you know what the Society uses to translate. A witness invented that.
Ha ha, love those urban legends! One man designed NASA's 'first' spacecraft huh? And a J-dub at that. Oh and there's that amazing translating MEPS thing Ha ha! They don't even know what MEPS is!

If he's rich enough, he'll be allowed to be a good witness. As long as he gets a few hours in FS a month. Oh and contributes to the fund generously. Best to do so with checks so God knows who the $$'s are coming from ...

Oh ... keep waiting ... and waiting ... and waiting. We promise it will all get better *someday* - sure we make mistakes but that just proves we're right. Unlike all the other religions when they make mistakes - that proves that they're false evil religions and everyone in them will die die die die, with all their blood and guts spilling out to the earth. Aren't you glad we have such good news to tell you!
