Every time a JW gets backed into a corner, they become 'unsure' of the past. Just like the WTBTS was 'unsure' of the requirements for being registered with the DPI at the UN in 1991 - playing as if there was a change ... They sure do have bad memories!

The key to leaving: there is no difference.

seeing that there is no real difference between them as a group and any other religious group.. they claim difference and preach difference, but they do not live and practice difference.. oh yes, they will tell you, we don't vote, we don't do this, we don't do that, but get to know them as people and you find out they have political leanings and they pretty much live just like everyone else.. so, basically, their claim to being god's chosen people is just that, their claim.
they have no proof to back it up.

Too true Joel. You've pointed this out in the past, and it was one of the main eye-openers for me. One reason that the JW mantra is "stay out oif the world" and ALL memberships with any group is discouraged ... the leaders know that if the average JW realizes that the JW group is exactly the same as any other group, the luster of being 'special' wears off. JWs are just the same as anyone else, good and bad, driven by the 'good old boy' network, political, clickish, petty, gossipy, etc.

L.A. DA+Grand Jury=Archdiocese/WT next?
by CornerStone ini don't know if anyone got around to reporting this but, today, the los angeles distric attorney informed cardinal mahoney of the los angeles archdiocese that if the cardinal was not more helpful in reporting child sexual abuse cases to law officials then the da, steve cooley, will seek to form a grand jury in la county to, by force, retrive letters, notes, reports, and other such documents intailing child sexual abuse and the repositioning of 'known' pedophile priest within the church.
i just scanned a post about somthing like this happening in new york.. i think it was by n. nates.
can you imagine if this becomes the norm.

by Simon inthe "please be seated" post rememded me of our experiences at the last district assemblies we attended.. it was in the nynex / manchester evening news arena and it was hot ... damn hot.
they were obviously being 'cheap' and not paying for the air conditioning to be turned on.. liam was a baby and was becoming unwell because of the heat.
he was overheating badly which is pretty dangerous at that age so we stripped him off and took him out up the steps to the concourse.

Ah the nazi attendants at the assemblies. I remember them so well. Yes, give a young guy a badge and a job and he thinks he's Joe Cop all of the sudden. NO! You cannot exit here. NO! Return to your seat. NO! Be quiet. NO! You cannot sit here. NO! NO! NO!
I remember the many times when the doors would be opened at 8am, and there would be a growd of hundreds pushed up against the doors. The stampede would start precisely at 8am when the doors opened, people literally being trampled while trying to get to 'the good seats'. I saw one very elderly women knocked down a short flight of stairs suring one of those. Ah the love! And this is after the 'reminders' from the stage EVERYDAY not to do this. It's amazing how much 'Jehovah's people' need to be constanly told what proper MANNERS are.
