  As regards voting, what's in writing and what policy is enforced, is two different things. It was made clear at least in the US, that voting is still 'not allowed' from the COs onstage.

  Yea, same as the voteing thing. You are no longer DF'ed for it. Just DA'd. Since there is no difference between the two other than the name, and the fact that they can at any time announce for any reason you DA'd (no need to even break out a judical commitee) it's a nice neat little spin they put on it to make them look better to the press. Won't make you feel better when your family shuns and abandons you though.

  It's like, saying "We won't murder you, just kill you". Some comfort!

  seems that the page view out number the posters who actually reply to the thread.. my guess is that there's alot of active jws who are still active within' the so called "truth" are visiting this forum and reading all the threads.

  i don't blame them for not wanting to reply for fear of being found out.. how many of you were still active when you found a forum like this one and lurked around for a long time?

  how many of you left the organization as a result of reading this forum or other forums like it?.

  It wasn't the big change that some have made it out to be. It was a refinement of understanding, not a huge spiritual hurdle to get over

  I know I shouldn't even bother but PLUEEEZE! Let's see we go from "Armagedon will absolutely be here within the next 10-20 years (prob sooner)" since a generation is only 70-80 years, to "We really don't know what generation means, it's some generic 'tern' for some generic 'time period'". Sorry bub, that don't cut it. Either they were lieing/wrong before, or they are lieing/wrong now. Either way I'm done with that crap. BTW, NOBODY ever had, or ever will define the word 'generation' to a time period of 100+ years, which is where the WT 'generation' is now at.

  Same crap w/ 1975. You can stick your head in the sand and say "la la la la la I can't hear you" all you want, but the WTBTS DID INDEED teach that that was a marked year, and fed the JW's into an armagedon frenzy. They did it, and your denying it doesn't change that fact.

  dmouse, that's a nice cop-out for the rank and file JW to think, but the fact is that all those that the elder's don't 'approve' of are not counted, so if Joe Shmoe comes off the street and get's jiggy with the stale crakers and cheap wine he's not counted. In fact, if Joe Cooky Witless decides he's annointed and the elders don't agree, they might not count him either. So you can bet that that number reported is only those who they 'think' might be annointed.

  Food service was a way to 1) get out of sitting and trying desperatly to stay awake during the brain numbing talks, and 2) impress the chicks (or so I thought - it never worked! ) But it sure was a good cure for reason #1
