Nice way to slip a racist comment in NY BTW, I don't think that black people have cornered the market in awful taste - I've seen some nasty-assed white women in bright/neon spandex before <shuuder>

Memorial Experiences from Hell
by Black Man inmemorial.....the time of year where we meditate on the supposed significance of jesus' death and watch all types of crazy mufuckas come out of the woodwork.
anyway, we had a new sister move into our territory and lo and behold claims she's of the anointed.
she was all of 40 years old, 350 pounds, friendly, feels that the friends should treat her with special reverence "since she's one of christ's brothers" (wouldn't that be sisters?).

WTS involvement with politics/UN exaggerated?
by troubled ini've seen the threads on the wts' involvement with cesnur, swaggert, and the un.
since then, i've done additional research on the internet, including accessing the un's webiste and searching for "watchtower" and "jehovah's witnesses.
" and i am concerned that many of the posts on this website grossly overexaggerate the degree of the wts's involvement and its purpose.. in my internet research, the only connection i have seen between the wts and cesnur or the un is in situations on the world scene threaten their right to religious freedom.

Well, being an N.G.O. pretty plainly implies that the org that is a member "Supports the UN's charters" etc. Don't recall the exact terminology, but you seem to have read it.
Even though they are doing it to 'further kingdom work' (according to them I'm sure) how does that jive with their commands to 'be no part of the world' and to remain 'seperate from the gov'ts'? How can they have their cake and eat it too? You can bet that if a JW joined the Red Cross, YMCA, whatever local charity - even if they said it was to 'further kingdom work' they would get a stern talking to, if you know what I mean.
And as far as these interfaith days goes, I know I sure never heard anything that encouraged JWs to take part in these. If any did it was a personal decision - and more than likely had no blessing from the WTBTS. Who can say for sure. But the WTBTS does NOT encourage people to take part in activities like that - it's all door to door, phone, letters, etc. And they seem to be wishy-washy on the 'alternative' (non door to door) witnessing methods.
It all boils down to this - whatever their justifcations, explinations, etc, they have gone to bed with their 'wild beast' and fornicated with it. You WILL NOT hear them toot their horn about this NGO thing because the average JW would be shocked. And they know it. But to protect themselves they had to take part in it. So they are no different than any other major religion, and THAT IS THE POINT!!!

That's great. Wouldn't want to get aids or something from the wine you know. I wonder when communion partaking of food/drink will become more dangerous than it's worth?

Why are JWs scared of death?
by NikL ini have been thinking a lot lately about death.
this is not surprising considering the turn of events on the 11th.. i have been re-awakened to the transient nature of human life and how it can go in the blink of an eye.
as the bible says life is vanity and a striving for the wind.. with all of the talk about world war 3 and how dangerous this world has become, i have been on a bit of an emotional roller coaster this past week.. the fear of dying is a normal and basic emotion.

UR - I really find this conversation facinating. My wife and I were actaully discussing this very thing a few days ago.
May I ask what it is about death that is so frightening? As far as I'm concerned, it's terrible sad when a loved one dies, but we do know it will happen. It's a tough situation. I myself don't beleive in any life after death right now, but I don't fear my own death. I want to live a good life, and when it's over, it's over.
On the other hand, I would think that growing old and watching all your friends/family perish until you were alone would be a terrible hard thing to deal with.
I guess where I stand at this point is that everyone dies, and you can do 2 things with that knowledge - live life everyday in fear of that time, or live life everyday to it's fullest - whatever it is that makes a person complete/happy.

Also maybe another reason so many JWs marry so young (besides the fact that they are horney and that's they only way to 'get some'). They may feel pressure to 'get some' before they die, cause if they did die a virgin they'd forever have missed out on sex. Well, at least sex with another person - I don't suppose the hand counts ...
I was always told how a loving god would 'remove the desire' from my heart - and I was like, well, it would take a miracle

Yea, I don't know if I could stand it, but from a selfish point of view it would be interesting to hear what the representative of god's 'mouthpeice' has to say. You may have to go to the back and puke once or twice though ...

You said it sf. IF they truly believe the tripe they spew, then they are wasting valuable time/energy by giving ANY thought to dead ones. Including the relief effort in NY that they will soon be patting themselves on the back about all their good works (yea right). Why not rejoice for those 5,000 since they might be resurrected now?
