squeak the ewok without guilt
ROTFLMOL!!!!! Never heard it put that way before ... but I'll definitly use it in the future. Funny stuff!
just a thought about how the wts handles baptisms .... it's strange isn't it that they pay such minute attention to detail for the actual baptism itself - someone scrutinises the whole event and should anyone's big toe sticks out the water then they get dunked again.. why?.
do they think getting completely covered is some magical spiritual thing?.
do they suppose that god wouldn't accept it if someone unnoticed didn't go under completely?.

while i have nothing against the ones that i knew of that were annoited, i found their family examples a little troubling.
i'm sure die hard jw's will respond that this is because satan is tormenting them, much as he did to job.
:( while that might be true, i also found that most ran their families like nazi's, and much of their problems were their own fault!!
'Annointed' or not, the above experience is one I've witnessed many times. Mr zealous elder/pioneer dad ignores family, or when not ignoring them runs the family like a JW Nazi death camp. End result is failed marrage and f'd-up kids.
And the elder slept with her father though he was unaware of her coming to bed or her leaving
Ha ha - BS! Unless they fed him some viagra to wake his whisky-d*&k up!
a few months back we had the usual elders/ms meeting with the circuit overseer during his visit.
there was a point that the co had emphasized and it brought me sick to my stomach anyone didn't put the effort to make such placements, that these publishers were in need of spiritual help and that we (elders/ms) should help such ones to do so.
talk about the pressure!
I find it very funny that MS and Elders are no longer 'allowed' to resign they are losing the best and brightest and know it.
The book thing does not surprise me, as stated it's all a #'s game, and your congo is obviously not meeting it's sales quota.
so i'm having a get together for my family.
the "pit" is going, the suds are flowing, and the sound from the tv permeates the air.
i look over and i notice that i've carelessly left my laptop in a place where it's easily accessible.
Each one that leaves, will leave a lasting impression on others that have not left yet, in my opinion.
Too true. At the rate they're going, every JW will know an apostate soon. Makes you wonder if it will make them wonder?
here we go again!the wt.1/1/2003,page 6,par:2.the time that god has allowed for humans to experiment with self-government is about to end.
(speculation).in fulfillment of bible prophecy, his kingdom was established in the heavens in 1914.
(speculation) footnote, for a detailed discussion of bible prophecy relating to 1914,see chapters 10 and 11 of the book knowledge that leads to everlasting life.now here is where it gets interesting.
Haha. They are getting more clever about avoiding printing anything that can come back to haunt them. Nothing more concrete than the word 'soon' - that of course they have been using for 120 years now.
caught inbetween the wt doctrine and being "worldly", x 'hovahs live a strange life indeed.
sampling what the world has to offer, yet remaing loyal to wt doctrine is the dichotomy that is the loyal x 'hovah.. my friend, let's call him "gomer", is such a person.
undoubtedly bothered by this situation, gomer refuses to delve into the world of the truth about the "truth".
It is an interesting twilight zone they live in, and I do think that a great number of those that do end up leaving never mentally leave. They chalk it up to a bad congo w/ bad people, or they are not 'good enough' to live 'up to the truth'. So off they go, but never mentally free themselves from the guilt that comes from being a 'hovah. These are the one you read about in the WT that get DF'ed go insane w/ sex, drugs, and rock 'n roll, then after $^#@ing up their lives think that the only way to 'fix' it is to return to 'hovah. Of course, they end up miserable no matter which life they choose, since either way they live under the 'hovah guilt plan.
now, lets be honest here.
what were you looking for when you were searching for a wife/husband in the organization?
was it the good looks of the other person, or maybe the spirituality they had, or maybe the good job he or she had?
Hottie - no doubt. Had the 'spiritual'(read: ugly) girls thrown at me, but I could never go down that road. Lucky I ended up with a not-very-spiritual, now apostate hot girl
jehovahs witnesses over on another board are telling me that elders can reprove someone (who sinned and is repentant) privately and that that person does not lose their priveledges.
has anyone here been reproved and kept all their congregation duties?
if so, what does "reproof" actually mean?.
Just goes to once again demonstrate the 'united' brotherhood is pretty much a farce. Rarely do the local elders follow procedure. They do whatever they feel like, and can get away with. Why not when the flock you are fleecing isn't privy to the rules and regulations of the game? Who's to complain? It'd be priceless to pull out the Flock book during one of these 'trials' and use it against them
As for the public/private reproof thing, usually even with private reproof, there are 'privledges' removed. Normally stuff like saying prayers, mic handling, MS/Elder, demonstrations, giving talks other than the school. Rarely do they take you off the school, and never do they take away FS. Of course, if you are in the click/in crowd you might find that the privledge removal doesn't happen - I've seen cases where several people were brought in for the same offense (a few partys w/ 'out of control' drinking). To the last person, each one who was family members of the elders (elder's kids) were privately reproved, no privledges removed. The non-elder's family? You guessed it, public reproof, all privledges removed - all of them. You could not have made the class distinction much clearer than they did.
i thought that the best team in the nfl deserved their own thread.
actually, i am not a huge football fan.
i do not watch much sports at all.
Wow, who would have expected lat night's game? Koy did a good job w/ the offense, I wouldn't say spectacular, but he certainly got the job done, and done very well. Hated to see his best game of his career end like it did. He certainly was in a lot of pain for awhile. Then the 3rd string guy steps in and right off throws a TD pass!! Not too shabby. But they are in a bad spot if (name escapes me) the 3rd stringer get's hurt. Then it's on to the running back to GB
The Niner's didn't look themselves at all. This has been a very strange season. So far nobody has shown that they go the distance. I mean, the Giants beat by the Texans? Not supposed to happen!
